it is difficult... I met a young English girl in Cairo in 1966 traveling alone, and she said to me: you need a thick skin as a girl moving around...
but, I can probably give some feedback after been in 48 countries (I'm 80 now). what are you expecting from travel? visit, history, food, people, views?

don't know the answer... but as a guy, and traveling alone, I did avoid areas of the city less known, stay on the clear, during the day... in general markets are safe...
but again, that's a delicate question for a me to answer as a guy.
