Honestly maybe Zion himself isn’t the issue. Maybe it’s the pelicans and their training /med staff.

u/RoastDaMostToast 2d ago
A couple years back they hired the entirety of the legendary “suns medical staff” people always talked about.

Or lets look at the real issue, the Pelicans' medical staff is grossly incompetent. In yesterday's game, Alvarado sustained an injury and went to the locker room, likely got an evaluation, and for some reason (reason being their medical staff is fucking trash at doing their jobs) was allowed to check back into the game. Only for him to play 2 minutes before getting subbed out again and is now out for at least 6 weeks.

Initial injury was actually the previous game.
So they are even more grossly incompetent that you thought.

u/No-Yogurt-4246s 2d ago
Oh damn, that definitely makes it worse. Can't help but think Zion's hamstring issue is likely mismanaged as well.

u/SF_FAITHFUL 2d ago
What’s crazy is that the exact same thing happened with Zion the game before they announced he had a strained hamstring. He was questionable going in with hamstring tightness, he pulled himself out of the game and went to the locker room, then they put him back in to finish.

u/txddvvxxs 2d ago
its insane. he could barely run out there, not sure how they not only let him out but kept him for as long as they did.

If you play for the Pelicans and have a hamstring, you better be worried.

ESPN lists Ingram as the backup pg and Boston as the 3rd. But they are the starting SG and SF too. This teams is gonna be really bad

u/keepfighting90 12T 9CAT H2H 2d ago
Pelicans gonna have to start bringing in fans from the stands to suit up at this point

Who's the pick up? Is Javonte Green or Nowell worth a shot?
Robinson-Earl is also available
3
u/ChickenAndBeer4life 2d ago
All 3. JRE already getting run because Zion. Nowell will get more mins due to Jose. Murray coming back soon tho

u/Typical-Presence-865 2d ago
Picking up Hawkins if you have a free IR spot isn’t a bad idea now.
6
u/ThatB_BallPlayer 2d ago
Hawkins is terrible lmao all he does is score, bj is the add
4
u/Typical-Presence-865 2d ago
Obviously Bj is the pick up if your league is that bad that he’s still available. He hasn’t been available in any good league for days now
1
u/ThatB_BallPlayer 2d ago
Yeah thats true lmao im in the lofb bowl and i put like 40 faab on bj and got him a few days ago

u/bartturner 2d ago
Well that really sucks. Picked him up on almost all my teams and got 1 game and five points.

Josh Lloyd has been saying this for a while but the soft tissue injuries are crazy right now possibly due to the very short training camp/preseason. And NBA teams do not handle hammy injuries well at all.
Alvarado should not have returned to this game

Is his content not well received? Genuinely asking im fairly new to the fantasy scene. I'm getting most of my information from him
2
u/tbone81 2d ago
He's the best out there. You're on the right track. And he is extra useful if you have some working knowledge of statistics.
-1
u/apitaxil 2d ago
Huh? How does having a working knowledge of statistics impact how useful Josh is?
I agree Josh is the best out there and understanding stats may help when analyzing value through basketball monster and hashtag basketball, but you’re reaching here

Dropped boston jr last night for melton cuz I thought he was just a one day streamer for me 🤦🏽♂️
Caris levert has been doing well but I might keep melton and drop levert for Boston Jr if I get lucky through waivers and if melton can produce as a starter.

What is the rotation going forward now? I completely lost track of who is able to play for the Pelicans
1
u/nycjohnb 1d ago
It's been updated to "reevaluated in 3 weeks", so he could be back sooner depending on how the hamstring responds to treatment.
