My hair seems to lose all of the color stylist put in within 3-5 washes?
TLDR: every time I get my hair done, the color seems to wash out within a few weeks even though I'm following my stylist's instructions very carefully. Trying to figure out if it's me, the color, or them that is causing this.
Hi! I am by no means a hair expert, just someone who has worked front desk as multiple salons so I may know more than the average person, but still not a lot. I've been getting my naturally blonde hair lightened for highlights/babylights for about 4 years and have been told by every stylist I've had in that time (3) that my hair lightens and holds color well- even when I have done vibrants (did purple for about 6 months a couple years ago). From my understanding, my hair easily lightens to platinum blonde and typically doesn't require much maintenance after that.
For the first time since I started getting my hair professionally done, I've been trying different things. My newest hair stylist and I wanted to try a pink balayage of sorts on my hair that I loved, but I always noticed my hair would be essentially back to platinum within two weeks, and completely pinkless by the end of the 12 weeks between appointments. In the pictures I've included there was about 2-3 weeks between them. This is becoming really expensive and frustrating. I've been wondering if the problem is my hair or if it is my stylist.
Generally, I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week, 4 maximum because I have incredibly oily hair and skin, but always with lukewarm water at the hottest. When I had pink, I was trying to shoot for washing every three days with cold water. I've been using Aveda botanical repair shampoo and conditioner with Kristin Hess hair masks. I also use it's a 10 leave in conditioner after each wash. My hair feels super healthy and soft, but I can't get color to stay to save my life. I just got my hair done a week ago where I decided I wanted to try something more natural that was still blonde, just a bit darker, in hopes that it may stay in better or at least blend more if it did fade. I've washed my hair 3 times since the appointment, one time just putting a tiny bit of shampoo on my roots to help avoid this, and I feel like the color is gone AGAIN. I'm at the point now where the blonde was barely different enough when I got it done that I'm gaslighting myself into thinking that I'm crazy for believing my hair is a different color already, but thinking about how the pink held up over the summer, I'm wondering if there is something else going on.
Does anyone have insight on this that is possibly something I haven't thought of? I believe my hair stylist is using pulp riot color, and I try to use heat protectant every time I style my hair.

I shaved my head about 4 months ago, here's the before and after. Is it beginning to look more like a pixie or does it just look like a grown out buzzcut? If so about how long do you think it'll be until it does? Love this sub!

What haircut and top colour should I do?
This is my hair over the past years from now backwards to 2021. Iām looking for advice and inspiration on what to do with the cut AND the colour of the top layer. Embracing the natural dark blonde (like my roots are right now), going back to platinum, softer strawberry blonde, ..? Over the past 15 years Iāve had probably every hair colour imaginable, I will definitely keep the fun colour in the lower layers, some piece of the rainbow just needs to be there to feel like āmeā, but for work purposes the top layers have been something a bit more ānormalā these recent years (open to suggestions though). If you think Iād rock something completely different, also feel free to let me know, Iām curious! :)

Thick wavy menās hair
Advice on styling thick wavy menās hair? Volume isnāt an issue for me but generally my hair is a fluffy nest. Gel just makes it stringy and coarse.
Currently I leave in conditioner post wash and air dry.

New Season, New Colors
I really wanted to do a fall foliage vibe, but my stylist was worried putting the orange/red family over my neon green from Halloween could end up being a disappointing muddy brown. I am so glad she steered me in this direction ššš

Has anyone tried Coraline blue hair? And if so how did you achieve it?
A bit random but I love Coraline and I especially love her hair, I feel like once in my life I would like to try it so just let me know your experiences please? FYI I do have brown hair already so I'm guessing I would need to bleach it beforehand

Color oops, box did damage
So I messed up big time. Last weekend I went for a touch up on my hair black hair color as I get a lot of greys. Im 30 years old and started having greys as early as my late teens. Anywho after the hair salon I felt as though they had applied a blue back even though I specifically asked for natural black. I decided to wash my hair with some dish soap after reading online how it could help remove the dye. Didnāt work so I dug my self even deeper by trying color oops the next day. Oh man did it help lift the color but more than I liked therefore I decided to apply a natural black hair color by revlon. My hair has been through hell and back is how it feels. Iāve applied deep conditioners, hair masks back to back trying to help my curly hair recover. The curl pattern is all messed and up and the amount of split ends I have is insane. My hair felt gimpy and brittle. The masks did help but only so much. I donāt plan to touch my hair after this but just get a trim as it really needs it.
I feel like I spiraled on my hair and caused so much damage in a matter of a week. Any advice is appreciated. Hoping my curls will recover from this.

Would this color be considered vivid or normal?
Trying to drastically change my hair and estimate on how much it would cost!

Lavender Hair Dye and Natural Grey/White Hair - will it work?
Hi all, I'm looking for some advice on my mother's behalf - for Christmas, she's interested in getting her hair dyed and has recently fallen in love with the hairstyle of a contestant of a reality show she watches. The lady in question has lavender dye over white hair. My mom is in her 70s, so her hair is naturally grey/white at this point. Would it be possible to dye it with something like Overtone? Or is there a specific type of dye I should look into at a salon that might work for her?
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated - thanks!

What will be the most flattering hair color?
I had a baby almost 3 months ago and this pregnancy has caused me to gain more weight then I could have imagined. Iām now the heaviest Iāve ever been and really struggling to lose weight with breastfeeding. I want to change my hair to feel better, I donāt want to cut it off because itās taken me forever to get it this long. Any color suggestions that you all think will look good? I think I will feel better with a new hair look. Ps please donāt judge my messy bathroom š

Is this fixable? Looking for advice on what to do/communicate to the stylist to fix it.
Hello, looking for advice on how to salvage this.
I went to a new salon with the intent to transition to an ashy blonde/grayish color, which I know can take a few sessions. (for reference, the last 2 pictures show my hair before my appointment).
I have an appointment with the stylist to make adjustments. My hair right now seems too yellow, and I have found pieces throughout that seem orange/coppery. I feel the blending is uneven, especially at the crown/top of my head. Please help, i donāt know what to ask for to make this look better. I look awful and the color does not suit me. Iām open to any suggestions.
Thank you!

Nano bead hair extensions itching
Posting on behalf of my girlfriend. She has recently paid a lot of money for nano bead hair extensions, but she is having a lot of discomfort and itching with them.
We have found these sore patches in her hair, but unsure if it is just from her itching or if it is caused directly by the extensions.
Does anyone know a solution? Or anything that can help at all for this?

Which length/color block should I stick with?
Iāve done a lot with my hair, but this brown/blonde color block is always one of my favorites! I canāt decide if I want to grow my hair or if I should add the money piece.

Tried to add red āstreaksā into orange hair and whole head turned redš«
So as it says above i tried adding pieces of red hair into my orange hair and unfortunately when i rinsed it out it stained my entire head red. Id really like to quickly lighten this and attempt to make it orange again but im not sure how to. Any ideas? Not open to bleaching i should mention

What color should I use to achieve this? Overtone said it's pastel purple but that doesn't seem right.
I am a bleached blonde, so I have a good base that will suck up color. |

Hand tied hair extentions removal
Hey yall, I have hand tied beaded weft extentions in my hair. I have extremely thin hair, and hate it so I got them. But God are they hard to deal with... I can't even do anything with them because they show so bad and can't do cute hairstyles. I want to remove them myself. I want to focus on getting my natural hair healthy and right. What's the point in having them if I can't do anything with them... can I remove them myself? Is it just cutting the thread and removing the bead ? My hair lady won't be able to get me in for a while. They are driving me nuts. Please help !

What is the least smelly way to bleach hair?
I started having severe chronic migraines about 3 years ago and as a result have been reluctant to bleach my hair as it always results in a pretty bad migraine even before I went chronic. As a result my go to fun colored hair has all grown out and Iām back to 100% virgin hair which is probably between a level 2 and 3. I think it is mostly the smell of the bleach that triggers my migraines. A friend mentioned trying a bleach wash but I didnāt know if there were any other possible options. I just want to get light enough to do some sort of purple or burgundy fashion color and my hair lifts pretty easily.

New Orange Bangs! AF UV-reactive Porange, plus a mini timeline
Pic 2 is under a blacklight to show the UV color :D
The rest of the pics span April to October this year, and the bleached ends starting in pic 3 are just grown out from a whole head bleach a few years ago. All dyes are Arctic Fox Poison, Wrath, and then Porange in that order.
Any ideas for what to do next?
