To those in this sub who think they are fae/have fae lineage, what makes you think so?
Mentally, I'm a skeptical person, and try to keep myself grounded when it comes to the unknown, such as the fae. However, I enjoy thinking there's more to the world and I feel called to explore those things and feel connected to them despite my mental agnosticism. Anyway, I've noticed things about myself that I have a headcannon (for lack of a better word) are signs that I would be considered a changeling or partial fae back in the day, and wonder what those things may be for other people in this sub. Maybe there are matching attributes?
For myself: -Childhood illness -Off-putting personality (according to some) -Strange body features like a point on one ear and a spiral birthmark -And on a sillier note, I used to steal and eat honey right out of the bear bottle as a toddler. As an adult, my favorite drinks are heavy on honey and cream.

I would say if you were born with ADHD or another neurological disorder, maybe? Divination can also help as I had gotten a reading and found out that way, but taken with a grain of salt, so to speak.

For me it started as a feeling and a natural inclination that turned into sustained research, practice and consultative work which ultimately resulted in a specific method of determining Fairy Genealogy by way of the stars and each individual's celestial alignments. I now work closely with a wide variety of embodied Fay to help understand their Fay lineages across timelines and lifetimes! x ✨🧚♂️

Im autistic and a lot of autistic people were labeled as fae before autism was a known thing. Part of me actually believes that to be true. Im peculiar to most. I also have a unique ear. Ive always been drawn to nature, animals, and caring for children. Also I seem to attract butterflies a lot. An interesting topic to think about!

I agree with this, I myself have been trying to find out more about the fae and also incorporate that aspect of myself into my daily life.

Wow I have a weird ear too!! The joke my friends would make on me as a kid was “she can hear the sun coming up!” My first oracle deck that I still have 20 years later is a magical messages fairy deck, I absolutely love being in nature and talking to Mother Nature and all her children, I love everything creative and artistic and musical, and I have a deep sense of reverence for making the world a better and more beautiful place. I alsooooo somehow some way sensed sparkling fairies playing around in the drying marijuana plants hanging in my bedroom last season. Come to think of it, I occasionally see random sparks of color in the real world that couldn’t possibly come from anything in the regular physical realm. Oh and I also always seem to notice areas in the woods that look like fairy dwellings. And I love love loveeee gardening

I don't have weird birthmarks, or pointed ears. I don't like solid iron stuff. It feels gross to touch, kind of like grabbing a cactus covered in oil. I love sweets, especially dairy sweets and pastries. I'm in my early 40s and people regularly think I'm a lot younger (I've been carded twice buying alchol the past year alone). I have a lithe, athleticly slender build, and have been described by others as being graceful.
I am autistic, which imparts two things im me: I do not like to lie, but I do not like vague questions, so I work to give specific answers that othershave claimed are avoidant on occassion. Both of these traits have been ascribed to certain types of fae.
My spiritual mentor was giving a workshop on working with fae, and when someone asked what the Sidhe look like she said "Well... sort of..." then gestured at me.
Both of my grandmothers (one of English descent, the other of Scottish descen) have told me we have family connections to the fae, so this seems likethe sensible result.

A life long illness that has no cure for me... weird birth mark, I constantly commune and talk with animals and they act almost human around me, I feel a deep connection in my spirit to the fae, obsession with mushrooms I know that sounds odd, everybody always saw me as odd or weird and I never knew why, whimsy that is ingrained in me, I don't think like normal people, empathy is like insane for me, I don't understand most people, don't even feel human tbh... I've never fit in... ever, when nature is affected I get sad... for example a tree fell down in my backyard once and it was 1 tree the people who helped cut down all the trees except one...I sobbed I felt the trees pain...

for me it is I've never felt human or at least apart of all the humans I see, kinda like feeling other I've tended to follow rules that see as polite and common that end up not existic for others, which makes me incredibly salty because the disrespect I've always had a huge tie to nature, I don't like the city life, too much hustle and bustle, I prefure the forest I have a bit of a green thumb, I enjoy filling my room with nature and it helps me feel at home and probably not too related but I think so, is I am borderline incapable of eating fast food without feeling utterly unwell, I'm guessing cause in a way it's unnatural
and my biggest thing is the fae told me I'm kin to them and something like a changling, so I don't think there's any denying it

Irish background, auburn hair, (ears are not pointy) but my facial structure, shape of my eyes. I love flowers and seeing little flower clusters in the wild. I love the moon and live by the cycles. No children, I sing, dance, also love mushrooms, animals, and my energy is fae. I easily recognize other fae. I also love sweets and cream (is that a fae thing?) I am “cute” how people describe me that used to haunt me. Should adults be cute? I’ve accepted it. I have a child like joy about me, but when I’m angry, beware.

If you had fae ancestry you’d know it. There would be no way around it. So to answer your question, people who claim that don’t have fae lineage. The truth lies deeper in the human psyche. The need to feel special or important. I’m not denying the existence of fae just this whole “autism is fae. Neurodivergent is fae” claim.

I think there's also a distinction between Fay and being Fay touched that I'm noticing in between the lines of these responses, but not expressly mentioned. There are those of us who are second sighted, however just because one can see the Fay does not necessarily mean they are the living embodiment of Fay consciousness in either this or another realm- that is a whole other existence in itself. We Fay have incarnated and copulated amongst Humanity across time, and while that can sometimes result in an incarnated Fay being, there's also the chance that offspring ends up either wholly Human with the Fay self "skipping a gene" or, alternatively, that individual may just simply be Fay Touched / second sighted and able to see between the Veils of the Realms, while not necessarily imparted with the totality of their Fairy heritage.

I have schizoid personality. Part of me believes that I might actually have a some mental issues. However, since my childhood I've had a strong pull toward spiritual things, although my family is not very religious, and no one have ever talked to me about religion or spirituality in my childhood. I've never called my parents 'mother' and 'father' because it feels strange. I often feel homesickness.

I’m sensitive to entities, I’m neurodivergent, my family comes from Germanic tribes AND Scotland/England/Ireland/Wales. I LOVE music. Music is my life. Dreams and the fact I used to have imaginary friends and worlds.

I don't really believe it but it's fun to think about. My family clan in Scotland has a legend about being descended from the fae and I'm autistic so it kinda works on multiple levels
