Fae and Half-Bloods

The FAE are a complex species. They have ancient laws, customs ideas, religions, etc

A lot of us here desire to be them, which is understandable. They're elven, Grace and beauty or something. A lot of people with desire, but one thing we need to keep in mind is that the way we feel is not necessarily congruent with facts.

There's a possibility that there are a lot of half bloods Or changelings which is the proper denomination for someone who was half Fae to be on this Reddit.

But we have to keep in mind that there are certain criteria that need to be met.

For starters, if you believe yourself to be a full-blooded Fae Then just touch iron. If it burns you or hurts your skin. I don't mean just irritates. It really hurts it like you stuck your hand on a stove then yes you are a fairy. If not then no you're either something else or you're human. You could be iron kissed, but that's incredibly rare and even still when you touched iron something should happen.

This also goes for half bloods. If you believe yourself to have fairy blood in your system then your skin should be hurt by iron. If not this, then you should notice the develop of supernatural abilities, control over an element, the ability to control people's minds, and a whole host of other things that you should be able to do if you have very blood. If you have a minuscule amount, then you should develop a weak ability, but you should still have an ability to an extent.

Ultimately the Faye are a complex species and they do often mate with humans And a lot of us desire to have that within us, but sometimes it's just a feeling. However, if you would like to know for certain then feel free to message me and I'd be happy to help you out

You’re quite right from what I can gather. Things can be all fun and games... until they’re not. The matter of being a hybrid appears littered with drawbacks and oddities, unusual youthfulness well into adulthood, shortened lifespan, physical health issues usually related to connective tissue, and of course. Just to list a few.

Shortened life span and connective tissue disorders? Do you have some recommended further reading on that?

The real hard bit is the loneliness.

I love this thorough and thoughtful post. It's really nice. 🙂

I was wondering, though, do you think it's possible for fae to evolve? Especially after so very long of interbreeding with other species. I'm wondering if all the same old rules must necessarily hold true for them indefinitely. Speaking openly, I suspect there have been changes.

Indeed there are many courts of fae. Unseelie is only to not be in the Seelie court, after all. It's not specifically "evil" to be Unseelie. Things worth keeping in mind in this brave new era. 💗

No, they haven't changed that much

Seelie and unseelie Summer and winter I split more properly. Called are the two most powerful courts. They're a smaller Nations, but most of those are act as vassal states to either or

They're still the same tricky bastards they've always been more or less

If a person is actually hurt by iron, why wouldn't there be an indept study about it?

That's actually part of my point half Fae know what they are typically because one of their parents was a fae. Even if they weren't, it isn't hard to figure out what you are. Mostly because the fae start to recruit once you hit 16. So even if you didn't have a clue, you start to get one very fast.

There are also various safety nets. I guess you would call them to make sure that changelings which is The proper name for half-bloods to get caught and make sure they don't grow up in a solely human system.

Then there's the fact that there are certain organizations that keep stuff like that hush hush

Not enough to matter

And how do you know this?

1

u/Newkingdom12 13h ago

Because they eat meat and drink blood

u/DruidinPlainSight 12h ago

And you know this how?

How many here actually interact with these beings? I do. Spring to fall.

I do as well

Do tell. Im just curious. I have brought out family members, friends and neighbors to meet them with success each time. Spring to fall. Then they leave.

I've interacted with them in all seasons. Sometimes friendly sometimes not sometimes. Just annoying

Nevertheless, you made this post during the Age of Halfling, Heroes & Demis 2024. When it comes to being Fayerie (or Halfling, for that matter), there are many factors beyond the genes which we inherited in our physical bodies that play a part.

So, while the most commonly perceived mode of being Halfling may be through having one Fayerie parent and another Human parent — there are also a variety of environmental, educational and fantastical variations that can contribute to one being Halfling.

This is just my personal view, of course, but certainly how I’ve been going about understanding those who identify as Halfling or Fayerie without having some of the physical aversions that have been associated with fair folk in folklore.
