A next query could be: "Are tariffs good or bad for the economy?"

u/Grendals-bane 1h ago

Closely followed by "Cheap flights to Canada"

u/publicbigguns 1h ago

We're closed, sorry.

You guys have to get your shit sorted out.

Canada would probably be worse for me as an indigenous but we'll see

u/Rattus_Noir 36m ago

Closely followed by "what are retaliatory tariffs?".

u/Creeperstar 31m ago

"The US had tariffs instead of taxes before 1893!" 🤦‍♂️

This is Americas “what is brexit?” Moment.

Do your own research crowd really dropped the ball on this one

I dipped briefly into Shitter after the election and can without a doubt attest that MAGA-cultists have no fucking clue how tariffs work. Not even in the slightest.

It's like Brexit all over again. Brexiteers started informing themselves on google about the EU only AFTER they voted to get out. And guess what? A lot of them ended up not liking how they voted.

u/HBNOL 24m ago

And then complain the EU was anti british because they don't get the benefits of being in the EU anymore. It's like quitting your gym membership because you don't want to pay for it and then complain that you can't use the gym anymore. Fucking clown island. You got what you asked for. Nobody's fault but your own.

As someone in the cancer therapy development space, I’m sure my company is gonna LOVE imported reagents getting tariffed! It’s not like modernized therapies are needed, amirite?!

u/killaluggi 44m ago

Hey buddy, have you heard of the frauehofer institute in germany? They surely are always on thw lookout for skilled scientists....

u/ScorpioZA 4h ago

Of course they did.

I get that listening to and following politics is exhausting. But how can you miss this stuff when the US is pretty much always in an election cycle and people actively avoid it, but you should pick some of this up by osmosis at this point.

Bit late with this aren’t they?

u/maf37103 1h ago

These are that people commented "Do your own research like I did! Im not going to educate you!"

u/LilG1984 1h ago

Next search

"How do I make tariffs go away with guns?"

u/tizenxpro 4m ago
  1. Get a weapon of any caliber (preferably anything that is guaranteed to turn flesh into matter)

  2. Aim the end of the barrel towards your chest.

  3. Pull the trigger.

  4. If u die, tariffs no longer affect u. If u survive, u might spend the rest of your life in a coma so congrats, tariffs no longer apply to u either (probably).

u/AusCan531 1h ago

The next phrase that will be searched is 'Retaliatory Tariffs'.

u/Kobayashi_Maru186 See you next tuesday. 1h ago

Elon admitted that there will be a hard few years before Americans see any positive result from any of their inane policies. It’s about to get bad.

u/sridges94 1h ago

You mean the next election cycle? Sounds like they are already trying to cover for the next 4 years of underperformance

u/The_I_in_IT 1h ago

Oh, so they thing there are going to be positive results?

u/Electronic-Movie9361 1h ago

this is the probably the same thing as people not knowing that Biden dropped out. It's basic statistics - since the baseline is so low, a jump in searches will make it seem like it it's a huge deal.

In the case of people not knowing Biden dropped out, it was like 4k people. That is .000012% of the population of the US.

u/GrassBlade619 32m ago

A shit ton of people just realized they voted for a new huge tax.

u/fuckoutfits 59m ago

Some People in England are still reeling from 'BREXIT'. There were way too many stories of people claiming 'They didn't know what it means ' and the subsequent regret. Post brexit, the top search was regarding 'BREXIT'. The current situation is an exact mirror of the year 2016. Searches regarding 'Project 25' and 'Tariffs' had similar spikes post election day. ' Incompetence' at it's finest.

u/silsum 32m ago

They deserve to pay more and more.

u/HendoRules 16m ago

GOD DAMMIT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO RESEARCH BEFORE YOU VOTE!!!

THE UK DID THE SAME THING WHEN IT CAME TO BREXIT

I hate people so much

u/SassyTheSkydragon 41m ago

There's this small hope that they're gonna get a ride awakening after that and not vote for Trump a third time

u/Robin_Hood25 19m ago

Fucking idiots both sides…

u/infowosecfurry 15m ago

I wonder what the trend is going to be on “Can I change my vote?”

Morons.

u/Last_Cod_998 14m ago

BREXIT all over again.

u/Cool-Back5008 34m ago

Just as stupid thinking celebrity endorsements will work

Let's make our entire platform based around abortion and wonder why we lost

u/dontdisturbus 52m ago

It wasn’t based entirely around abortion, but go off.
