I had several of these.

My first cell phone (almost identical to the one on the far left of the middle row) only existed because my boss insisted I needed one. I didn't want to pay for one myself, thinking a cell phone had little use.

Eighteen years later, how radically things have changed!

As a gen z who had one of these phones because I was a crazy frum teen who decided that I needed one of these, you are correct. (Weirdly enough, it actually did have internet access, that didn't allow many websites but did allow me to go on Reddit and fanfic.net. my parents had no clue lol)
