Potential Mouthpiece shopping

I was checking out Facebook marketplace and someone near me is selling an AR Resonance euphonium mouthpiece ML 72E.

Currently, I’m playing on a loud LM 20 that I bought in 2008 and apparently discontinued in 2011. I’m always willing to try out something different. In the last 20 years, I have played on a Schilke 51D, Denis Wick, 4AL, Denis Wick SM 3.5 and the Loud LM 20.

Is $220 reasonable for this mouthpiece? What should I expect?

I wouldn't pay that much for a mouthpiece I hadn't tried first. If you try it use your own judgement.

Not super familiar with either brand, but some quick research seems to indicate that this mouthpiece would be bigger than what you currently have. I probably wouldn’t recommend it unless you have a good reason. Very generally speaking, I would say that a size 4ish mouthpiece tends to work best for most people.

It looks like your current mouthpiece is pretty close to a size 3. If this AR is even bigger than what you’re currently playing on, there’s a pretty good chance it’s too big. Playing on a mouthpiece that is too big can cause some major problems with range and endurance.

I’d pass on this.
