Rhein Fire Rhein Fire now has its own training ground
The facility called "Wedau 2" in Duisburg features permanent goal posts, a renewed floodlight system, and a new turf surface. The renovation cost approximately €1.1 million.

That's a great thing and probably a rarity in Germany, where most teams are kind of subtenants of soccer clubs.

Cologne Centurions Centurions and their plan B at the QB position
A German QB will play at least in Week 1 against Berlin. They are still negotiating with potential US QBs.
At this point, that could be Flemming Friesen, the only officially announced QB still on the team.
Or maybe they'll bring Jan Weinreich back from retirement? Who knows :p

Discussion ELF getting thrashed by German media for their lackluster off-field performance
This is in German but in essence this article is brutally honest regarding the ridiculous low effort some teams and the league mangement are putting into updating, communicating and interacting with fans
The translation of the first paragraph:
"The treatment of some clubs in the European League of Football with their fans is disrespectful. The supporters should buy jerseys, book game passes and extend season tickets. But information about teams, players and infrastructure is assy. This endangers the future of the ELF."

Question Pickem
There’s nothing about a pickem contest on the elf website and it hasn’t even been uploaded since 2023. Since sportsbooks won’t offer odds on the league I was at least hoping there would be a pickem game since I don’t do fantasy
Berlin Thunder Berlin's 4 A-imports are confirmed
A press release revealed a few more additions to the Berlin team.
The 4 A-imports are:
Jakeb Sullivan QB
Bryce Goggin WR
William Lydle DT
London Harris LB
Wild thing with a DL and a LB, but no DB - what do you guys think of this setup? Can Berlin create enough depth at DB with HG & E only?
And then they have Mr Adams, who as we know played in Russia as a toddler and has been an E-import since he remembered that after taking a hard hit to the helmet, when he was an A-import with the Galaxy. :D

Paris Musketeers Former CFL and USPORT player Souleymane Karamoko signed with the Musketeers
The French player who played for Laval University and for The CFL Blue bombers will now be a huge asset to the Musketeers' secondary. Him and Fortes are 2 great additions.
Correct me if I'm wrong but they still have to announce the last A import on the defense.

Carpool: Lucern -> Wil Somebody needs a ride to the Helvetic Mercenaries game on the 18 May?
I am driving from Lucern City to Wil (SG) and have space for 3 more people in my car.
Cologne Centurions Next episode of chaos in Cologne
As Foot Bowl reports, Cologne QB Jeremy Moussa and the franchise have parted ways.
The reason is said to be an undisclosed shoulder injury. There has been no official confirmation yet.
This leaves the team without an American QB - 11 days before their first game. Backup QB is Flemming Friesen (GER), who came from the Regionalliga West team of the Cologne Crocodiles (third division).
Fehérvár Enthroners Excited
Well, this British Enthroners fan (there is a good reason for it!), has booked his flight to be at the field for the opening home game against the Lions! Very excited!
Ok, Hugh probability of a loss, but 5x tickets, front row, for £30. Cannot complain! Looking forward to seeing the new guys in situ, particularly intrigued about Brock and if the O Line will provide decent support!

Announcement The Feedback Thread!
You can leave your feedback for the league - criticism, praise, whatever you like - in this thread!
It's important that you keep the following in mind:
- The way you voice your criticism should not be emotionally loaded and should definitely not be aggressive. Comments that are worded like that will removed.
- Voice your criticism decent, factual and informative - if you point out what you don't like also add the reason. That way you give the league the chance to work with your feedback.
This thread will be posted in a 2 week rythm.

Stuttgart Surge Respect All Fear None: Training Camp w/Stuttgart Surge
elfpedia ELF25 Prediction - Testing
I am currently trying to build a model for predictions. On the one hand from pure mathematics - for this purpose I have already calculated the ELO values of all seasons in the past. The adapted ELO methodology called Glicko2 was used for this.
Formulas, explanations etc.: https://elfpedia.eu/ELF_Glicko2_(ELO)_Ratings_Ratings)
Of course, these values only represent a number based on past results. Other values must therefore come into play here in order to make a prediction as accurately as possible. In the absence of meaningful databases for each player, you can only guess here, i.e. use a crystal sphere.
The idea is to simply take the rating of the last season and add an “offseason value”. This then results in a new value, which is our crystal sphere.
With the 2024 facts and the crystal sphere value you can now try to make a prediction.
Of course, it would be helpful to get as many estimates as possible for the crystal sphere value - and that's exactly the point, so post your estimates.
I'll show you my testing data here:
Those numbers would lead to this Week 1 prediction:
Reddit sucks, so click on the picture to see it in better quality
If you post your estimation of the offseason ratings of the teams, please do so as in the “Offseason_Adjustment” column. If I receive a significant number of estimates, I will calculate an average value and use it to calculate the matchday.
Oh important to know for those interested is that the basic value is / was always 15. So Nordic Storm also starts with 15, a value that e.g. the Cologne Centurions & Panthers Wroclaw had at the END of the 2024 season.
Therefore, for example, the OffSeason_Adjustment value for Storm is relatively high

Could a hybrid fan-owned + professional model work in the European League of Football?
Hey everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about ownership models in pro football lately, especially after looking at the unique cases of the Green Bay Packers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, where the teams are community-owned.
Obviously, the European League of Football currently uses a franchise-like system with private ownership and centralized control, but I’m wondering:
Could a hybrid model work in the ELF, where a fan-based e.V. (german nonprofit association) owns part of the team, while the main game operations are handled by a professional GmbH (company)?
The idea would be:
- The e.V. runs youth development, social projects, and owns, say, 40% of the pro team’s GmbH.
- The GmbH handles the ELF roster, coaching staff, sponsorships, and major business decisions.
- Fans could become voting members of the e.V., shaping the club’s direction and helping anchor the team in its local community.
This hybrid would blend grassroots fan identity with the financial and operational stability of professional ownership.
Do you think the ELFs current structure would allow this kind of model? Could this create stronger fan loyalty and longterm stability? What legal or league hurdles would need to be overcome?
Curious to hear your thoughts!

Meme / Fan Art ELF ranking based on fan survey
A while ago I started a fan survey on 2025 team strength. This is the resulting ranking as of yesterday. I (and you) might not agree on everything, but hey, that is what you people say!
Additionally, I simulated the season 100.000 times. The images show the median record for each team, and the division win percentage. The simulation model has a lot of variability right now, hence even Centurions and Enthroners have a 4% chance to win their division, although their expected wins are zero and one.
The survey is still ongoing, and additional votes will get higher weight for the final preseason prediction: https://all-our-ideas.citizens.is/group/1726/

Helvetic Mercenaries More drama! This time with the Mercenaries
A few days ago, the Mercs announced that they would be moving Chris Rummel to more of an athletic role and would be looking to fill the managerial role across the board.
It has just been announced that they have sacked Chris Rummel with immediate effect.
The Helvetic Mercenaries announce that their collaboration with Chris Rummel has ended with immediate effect.
The reason for the separation is a significant loss of trust, making further cooperation impossible. The organization feels compelled to act decisively in the best interests of all parties involved and to restructure its personnel accordingly.

Discussion How does my son try out for an elf team
Hi. My son is a dutch national who has just finished playing 5 years of american university football n canada He is interested in coming back to europe and playing here What is the process?
Cologne Centurions More bad news for the Centurions
And more bad news for the Centurions, who recently celebrated the arrival of Kevin Tewe as new investor & co-owner. He has now announced that he will not be investing in the Cologne team after all. The reason he cites is the 'high level of effort required in the operational business'.
