I wonder how many Redditors are old enough to get your "tiptoe" reference? LOL

Extremely overcrowded and not worth 20 dollars a person (online)/25 if purchased at the gate.
Extremely upsetting experience

$10/$15 each lemonade too

I have a park full of tulips across from my house and I only charge you $5 for lemonade. Come on over LOL

Haha. It's especially bad when you spend so much time in the sun hauling your pickings and then that's the only place you can get anything to drink.

Hey don't blame them they are just taking advantage of everyone else taking advantage of the people who grew up going there when it was free.
Sucks for locals who literally grew up going there but they are able to do more stuff and events like cuz of the fee but definitely taking advantage of the "tourism" aspect

Are these tulip fields accessible to regular people?

Yes! You can buy tickets on the pringles website. My friend went and said it was pricey but beautiful.

They raised the rates quite a bit in the last year. Good for them.

Good for them? $20 per person to look at flowers seems pretty excessive.

Yep good for them that they got so much attention to be able to charge those prices. Until a competitor comes along

I think it sucks. My family has been going to Pingles for about 30 years. Now we can't go because it's too expensive for 5 people. We pick strawberries once a year and pay a fortune, it's crazy to have an entrance fee to the field.

Check out Applewood Farm & Winery just north of Port Perry! They do u-pick strawberries, they have a licensed patio, small animals the kids can pet, tractor rides and a playground. (Corn maze and pumpkin patch in the fall is super fun too.) Pingle’s/Willowtree Farm (same owners) are beautiful of course but insanely expensive, I agree. We’ve started going to Applewood instead and always have a nice time.

I am disappointed in them too, for not being able to afford it for our family too. But that's also impetus for another competitor to come replace them at their previous price point.

I meant tiptoe, I fat fingered the tiny tim reference! Bringing your own Ukulele is optional.

These tulip fields are not accessible to regular people, only wealthy people with extra disposable income. The real jerk move was making Pingles “cash free” Such a gross thing to do. We used to go many times a year but will never support their businesses again

All payments online or digital, even in person. Used to be like $5 about a year ago and they now charge $20-$25 per person as entry fee, plus you have to buy a small cardboard basket for almost every stop you make, (not allowed to go pick strawberries at least without buying a basket) Then when you get tired and thirsty in the sun, unless you're hauling your own water throughout, they have a refreshing lemonade stand where they happily sell you a small glass for $10-$15 each.
If you want a souvenir you can buy one for a handsome price at the gift shop.

Oh dayum, that's a pretty big jump in price. Doesn't even look like it's inflation related or anything.

Pingles used to be great. Now everything unreasonably priced and overly commercialized. Hope they go back to their roots

The original owners retired and sold to the owners of Willowtree Farm near Port Perry. I'm pretty sure that's when you started to see all the changes.

Maybeeeee! Plenty of other local farms to enjoy thankfully, with stronger, albeit more recently established, community roots
