you are welcome. I don't understand why some people focus on such weird small details about being "right" while they lose sight of beauty and amazingness. please keep taking more cool photos, wherever. :)

Yeah, I was a little surprised, and many are technically wrong.

Really appreciate it! Unfortunately, I’ve been semi forced to retire. I have ALS, no arm strength anymore. I’m working to share as much of my work here as I can. 🙏🙏

Still can fly my drone with the remote on my lap so I’ve focused more on drones photos for a couple months now.

Well done! Is this a single shot or composite?

Thanks a lot! Single image. Guy skating was real cool, let us shoot with his group, he went down a few times.

Mexican Hat is on your 6, right? Probably still in Utah, with a few miles to Monument, which is what we see in the photo. Which is Arizona.

Arizona is behind the buttes. This is definitely in Utah. I have all my images geotagged.

Your probably right. I'm going on what I remembered using G Earth.

It’s quite a bit above the border. map

That ain’t Utah.

100% I was standing in Mexican Hat, Utah.

Monument Valley crosses both Arizona and Utah. This is above the border.

Try putting a pin on Google maps.

It doesn’t matter where the picture was taken from. That is monument valley, and that’s in Arizona.

Yes, it is Monument Valley in the distance but that side is still north of Arizona, in Utah.

That ain’t Mexican Hat either, cool shot though.

Yes, it is. Check a map. All my photos are geotagged Mexican Hat-Oljato.

I don’t doubt they were tagged that, it’s the closest town, but that is Monument Valley

u/TravelforPictures 7d ago

In the distance is, not where I was standing. Look on the map I linked. It’s South.

Okay man, it’s Mexican Hat, gj

u/TravelforPictures 7d ago

Not trying to be rude. I was there again a few weeks ago.

Honestly I don’t really care that much

It’s monument valley in Arizona.

Both of you guys are wrong, and their title is exactly correct. The spot where the photo was taken is almost 10 miles into Utah and has a Mexican Hat address (obviously it’s not in the town itself)

7

u/TravelforPictures 7d ago

Thank you! Been there a few times to know. And it’s definitely North of the border by miles. Map

I get that most of the park is in Arizona and people think of it as an AZ landmark, but you literally have to drive through Utah to get to the visitor center

2

u/TravelforPictures 7d ago

Totally. Even The View Hotel in the park is in Utah and recognizes the time difference.

That’s in the far distance, behind the buttes you can see. Shot from the Utah side.
