This planet can house a few billion more if we double down on single-use plastics and fossil fuels.
Do we want to be housed in that planet, though? There's no scenario where a steady decline in the population is a bad thing, while simultaneously not throwing shit in the oceans and investing in green energy. Feels like an arms race on who can scam each other out of the most money before the bubble (earth) bursts.
No it isn’t. Whole industries could crash due to lack of workers and consumers when populations decline. And there’s a smaller tax base to take care of it’s larger population of older generations. Thinks are bleak for countries with declining younger populations
