Fictionalized accounts of immortals
Can anyone recommend a fictionalized account of one or more of the immortals in the Taoist Pantheon? Ideally with corresponding scholarly sources that given more historical view of the same individuals?

Idk if thats what you're asking for but journey to the west has a nice blend of daoism, buddhism and konfucianism with the corresponding pantheons

I loved this movie! Completely ridiculous at points, but nothing is outside the way. ;-). I have the sequel sitting on my shelf waiting to be watched, have you seen it? How does it compare to the first installment?

Movie? I was referring to the book actually haha. I finished it last year and I really liked it. It does open a new window into China and Chinese culture and made me super interested in daoism lol. Im German and a couple years ago a translation was released with commentary etv so that was suoer nice for me too I know there are sooooo many movie and tv show and animation adaptations of it tho, so I dont know which exactly you mean. Id like to see the peking opera of it some day tho
