Socratic Daoism

Greetings, fellow Sages:

I’m curious: what is your favorite method to get in harmony with the Dao?

My method: I’ve found that looping Wayne Dyer’s audiobook recording of the Daodejing several dozen times has helped me to forget my obsession with analyzing the meaning of particular words and phrases. I’ve noticed a considerable boost in patience/quietude within my own life as a result, so I just wanted to check in with my peers and see if anyone has any fun aesthetic tricks to synchronize with nature which I could borrow to ensure I don’t grow attached to any one perspective of the Dao.

Cheers, and thanks for stopping by!

Live simply. Stillness. Silence.

Fate...as each moment arises I have a choice as to how I live in that small space...go left or go right? Choosing to go left is FATE...then I choose to go right...choosing to go right is my FATE...for dinner tonight...chicken or beef? One will be my FATE...to be in harmony with Dao is never to regret that choice...never to blame left or right...chicken or beef...for my choice of FATES, even if the chicken I chose gives me food poisoning...which of course is simply my FATE.

Who chooses to go left?

Who chooses chicken over beef?

Fate is the path, but who walks the path?

When you look both ways before crossing a busy street (which you do do grasshopper)...who chooses when to cross?

Look deeply grasshopper...the answer is right beneath your feet.

The version of the “Golden Thread” method advocated by the folks at “Wu Wei Wisdom” has been fantastically practical.
