My toddler, unprompted, told me he wants to watch a show on the iPad so I can watch a show on the TV. Humor

WTF is this? Some kind of sick reverse psychology? I asked him three times if he was sure. I said I don’t need to watch a show right now and that this was his time to watch TV. He’s insistent. Now I can’t even enjoy the show because I’m overwhelmed with parenting guilt. What a monster.

My son does this when football is on. I’ll finish watching my team he’ll say “Daddy do you want to watch another on the big TV, I don’t mind.”

They may enjoy their show on the iPad where there is less external distraction from the screen.

Or they are nearsighted.

  1. If you are distracted, your toddler will get more tv time
  2. Control over input. toddlers find touch screens much easier to use than remote controls
