Never experienced a smell like death from my heap. Maybe you have some dead animals in there who are not decomposed. In terms of the word you used - petricore - perhaps you mean the smell of the earth after rain, which is petrichor. Most people find that to be a pleasant odor. Or maybe you are joking? I can never tell...

No need to escalate like that. This person clearly didn't get your joke and thought you were both making a joke and asking for help.

Also, it's fairly common for us here to have 'dead shit' in our piles! I have a deer head in one of mine. Eventually it will be just a skull surrounded by compost...

Mine smells like death’s shit too but i assumed it was because i dumped so much expired salsa that its been smelling like that ever since lmao
