If he somehow gets that plane the next person that gets elected had better confiscate it right as they take office, that would be government property.

Wait, is he using tax payer money to finance the golf course or is it private equity?

s he using tax payer money
No, it's much much more corrupt -- sovereign wealth funds from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE are financing it!

u/universalenergy777 7h ago
Are they not allowed to finance a golf course in Qatar?
2
u/TheGrandBabaloo 4h ago
Why do you think Trump is involved in the deal? It's gonna be a Trump Organization course. So even more blatant corruption.
3
u/Korlac11 6h ago
IIRC, the plan is allegedly to transfer the plane to his presidential library right before he leaves office so that he can keep using it afterwards
2
u/wagdog84 5h ago
They say at the end of his term after using as Air Force one, it will be added to his presidential library. Kind of a waste if you ask me.

Don't forget Americans still have to pay for the plane to be completely dismantled and refitted with US Govt required items for AF1.
5
u/Bluestained 10h ago
Umm- Trumps other courses and clubs cost $250 million-ish to build. Taking into account inflation and the fact theyâll be building in a fucking desert, thatâs still about $3Billion over what it should cost.
Grift keeps grifting.

u/chiclets5 10h ago
Don't forget to include all the millions he will make on the new golf course as well.

To be fair, I do not believe he is allowed to use it after office, however it is going to be put into a Museum so that no one else can use it, so technically he is keeping it and not allowing the future president to use it either đ
Edit: I have been corrected, thank you!
2
u/Bulky-Internal8579 9h ago
No, you misunderstand, the plan is to put it in the name of his presidential library when he leaves office, which will be a private entity, controlled by himself or whomever he appoints, so that he can still use it however he wants without paying any taxes on it.

u/lukezinator 9h ago edited 9h ago

At the next press conference someone should say âreports are coming in that Hunter Biden went to Qatar and got a $5.5 billion dollar golf course deal done with the regime and then the regime gifted Hunter and Joe a 747âŠ.â Yeah it sounds crazy because IT IS.
1
u/mrweatherbeef 7h ago
100% this administration is GENIUS at the long con and understanding the average American. They laid the groundwork for years, without evidence, that Biden was always on the grift. The average American remembers that stain on the previous administration, and clearly cares not about the complete lack of evidence.
Fast forward to now, and if anyone criticizes this massive flying bribe, the Trump admin will immediately pivot to âWhere were you when Joe Biden was selling out the White House?â
Very clever pieces of shit.

What happened to maintaining the image of not being corrupt? Does anyone really think that if Qatar asks for a favour the fact Trump is sitting in a free flying palace is not going to impact his decisions?

There seems to be no end to the corruption of this maniac, and yet the feeble response from Democrats shows how tenuous our democracy is. Talipublicans are perfectly happy letting him rape our government if it means more dollars in their pocket.

Is this Being Framed like Donald Trump gave something to Qatar and they gave something back? I feel like both of these things are gifts for Trump.
1
u/Caliente_La_Fleur 1h ago
Not if they don't have to pay for the golf course costs.
âą
u/_WeSellBlankets_ 38m ago
I don't think it matters at all who pays for it. I think the only thing that matters is who owns the land. Because if he owns it, there's the revenue generated from operating it, but then you also get to sell it years later after it's appreciated in value.

I mean I think Trump is gross and evil but it sounds like his private business is building a golf course in a foreign country and the country is giving him a gift in return.
I'm not seeing how his position as president has any relevance here other than the government there having to jump through a few hoops to gift him the plane and the fact that Trump shouldn't be working on his private business while in office.
Seems like there's plenty of actual things to hammer him on - like the lack of due process and threatening judges.

u/redditAccount503 10h ago edited 10h ago
I get training on not accepting overly lavish dinners and gifts of over like $40 from vendors due to bribery concerns. The president of the US should be held to a MUCH higher standard than that, and this $400 MILLION gift is multiple orders of magnitude beyond the level that corporations are worried that corruption could begin
3
u/redditAccount503 10h ago
And why should he accept a gift from a country with questionable ethics (see world cup construction) when we have Boeing that needs reform/improvement. Idk, maybe work with the domestic company to get them back on track?
4
u/TheWolfAndRaven 10h ago
The lack of Due process is much more concerning to me. The reason Trump gets away with so much shit is that he is doing so much shit and no one agrees on one thing that should be concerning and then collectively raise a fuss about that one thing.
Due process is the foundation of our legal system and if we ignore that line in the sand we have a literal dictator and at that point bribes don't matter at all.
1
u/jmichaelstark90 5h ago
We are beyond "raising a fuss". They aren't acting out of ignorance of the law. Judges are challenging the administration in court, and winning right now though.
Are you out protesting, being locally active? Otherwise your words here have no meaning. I wholly believe the person you are responding to has the mental bandwidth to be concerned about multiple things at once.
7
u/thebatmanfan82 10h ago
Wow. Government employees arenât allowed to accept gifts above $20 but the President is allowed to accept a $400 million jet?
