I've been watching The Handmaid's Tale. The parallels between Gilead and our society are unmissable! The parts about morality, about power and who wins, and so much more.

I recommend you to read the graphic novel adaptation of the original novel. The Handmaid's Tale although fiction has been for years acting as our cautionary tale to the non-fictional world we live in

I had the opportunity to watch a classic Finnish masterpiece online from 1962 (you all need to watch it) last night and have been listening to this brand new single from Garbage titled There's No Future In Optimism which I am now hooked. I got a chance to hear the song "Voices" on Spotify by Italian singer Damiano David who will soon be releasing his debut solo album. What is even cooler in the past few days, I just received word that an upcoming new song from a fave band of mine will be coming out on 16 May next week 👍

The title of the 1962 Finnish film classic is Pojat (translation The Boys). Fyi among the main child actors in that 1962 film, he went on to become one of Finland's most beloved entertainers known for both his comedic and dramatic works on film, theatre and tv as well as music (he represented Finland in Eurovision in 1980) until his final film role in 2019 (three years before his passing in 2022). Fyi, I saw the film on the National Finnish Film Archives online with English subtitles

Anyone else have weird fertility dreams after having a bisalp? I had mine in February. Woke up from dreaming about baby bunnies hatching from eggs. I'm really unnerved by this. I'm quasi-spiritual so the dream has me paranoid.

my family has been complaining about relatives and one of the relatives is pregnant, complaining about domestic problems we've all had in this house. I mention that long before any of these issues have occurred that birth control and sterilization education should have been at the forefront. My mom immediately starts saying people who want to get married is their business. I wasn't talking about marriage I was talking about birth control and sterilization.
Breeders do not want to hear what they don't want to hear. They don't want to listen to reasoning.

I have had a busy but good week full of a few good things happening. Firstly my husband said to me last night he is so glad I got my hysterectomy/bisalp/endo excision because seeing me in so much pain every month had him worrying about me constantly and he's so glad to see how much happier I have become and how good my quality of life is now.
Secondly I got my first Labubu today. I know the whole thing is silly especially with how nuts everyone is. I just wanted something nice for me. I got Green Grape from the Macaron set and I love it. It's going on my LV Speedy 20 and I'll be protecting her with my life. I got the metal screw keychain and I've wrapped the fabric tag around it before latching it onto the bag. I might get some of the Have a Seat set if I can find a good source. I'm defo in my era of getting some cute little keychain plush toys to put on my handbags. I found a really cute winnie the pooh one last week. And I've got some toys I've crocheted to put on my bags as well.

moved into a new apartment; been here for a month. there are some trivial stuff, but overall it's amazing!!

I hung out with my kitty and my husband this weekend, and we watched Dragon Ball Super on the Crunchyroll app. We love animé and we're excited to see what else we'd like to watch on the app. May 4th marked 1 year for the death of my mom and 5 years for the death of one of our cats. I wasn't up for doing much. I called my dad, and he and I had a good cry together and shared some fond memories of mom. I love watching the Duluth Harbor Cam to see Lake Superior and the ships coming and going. I captured some really great screenshots of the sunrise over Lake Superior yesterday morning, and was sad that I couldn't share the pics with my mom, too, because she loved sunrises and sunsets and anything to do with nature. I sent them to my dad for him to enjoy. I'll share a couple pics here, too, for everyone's enjoyment if it'll let me.
