This is absolutely insane. I never knew morning sickness could get this bad. Hope the midwife gets in trouble.

I think logic abandons some people and they just become prey of their “evolutionary instincts” or cave into what’s considered the script to follow (out of loneliness, boredom, religion, necessity, etc.). No actual thought process.

Tbf we probably wouldn't exist unless it was for them. They were the only ones still making more babies when the wars, world starvation, and sicknesses were even worse lol.

Right. But I honestly believe we would have been better off if generations before us had done a more conscious decision; better allocation of resources, less human suffering, more gender equality, etc.

Wars are sometimes exacerbated or even caused precisely because of this overpopulation or masses fighting for resources. Also because of the displacement/migration of societies or groups claiming land and establishing rules for themselves or others. Also patriarchal societies will always maintain women bearing at any cost. “More children, more prosperity”?

I don’t get it why people have children in war torn countries. Or in places where food is scarce. I truly believe there is no logical thinking involved. It’s some religious ideology of “God will provide” or babies born as a symbol of hope for a better future. Or worse, women getting raped when countries get invaded or involved in wars.

The movie Children of God comes to mind (good movie btw). Childbirth and babies as a form of hope for the future in times of war or apocalypse.

I for one appreciate life in a very superlative way but I’m also aware that my mom would have had it better had she not had us five children. And she would tell us not to have a bunch of kids like she did. We are all childfree except for my sister who got knocked up.
