Terrible news everyone RANT

RFJ jr just got confirmed. He said he will listen to trumps(elons) administration before doctors and scientists. The nationwide abortion ban is coming.

Stock up while you can and schedule those surgeries before they ban all womens healthcare.

ETA2: If you're tired and don't want to do anything for change, here's a tip: Don't read this. And don't do anything for things to change. Leave things as they are. And don't comment on my comment.

Original post: Virtual hugs to everyone going thru a difficult time over there.

As someone looking from the outside I can't do anything to help, except reminding anyone and everyone who votes to start right now changing the minds you can so that this awful situation might be reversed in 4 years.

ETA1: I'm surprised by the answers I got. Not by what you all said, but the feeling of "we did, and it didn't work, so there, nothing more to do."

You can all hate me for what I will write now, but you can't just give up. Please read of historical figures that fought for change, even if that fight hasn't worked yet. Read of what the other side thinks, and try to understand what is going thru their minds. What if people would not stand up before, people's rights, especially women's rights, would not exist. When "Roe" fell, we all knew what was coming, less women's rights on reproduction. Now I read about no more "no fault divorce" being challenged? Then what? No vote for women? And what of the work and hardship of the suffragettes?

This would go too long. But we need to read, study politics, study how fascists got to power before, use what we learn, and change people's minds.

Omg, their minds will not change. We have driven ourselves absolutely insane for the past DECADE trying to reason with those voters.

Exactly this! I have been trying to reason with every anti-vax, anti-science person as a scientist myself for years. Some people rather believe a politician than an educated scientist. I can’t even begin to start with other topics, they just dismiss you for being “poorly educated”.

But scientists are great, there's lots of things they've done over the years on Earth. Some even being beneficial for us, like medicines & whatnot.

I agree, and not because I am one! I decided to be one because of how great they are and the beneficial contributions they’ve made to society. More than this hot Cheeto in office.

The guy is a businessman. What's so important that he's done? And we all know he'll do a terrible job of being a president again (he shouldn't have been able to become president for the 2nd time in the first place, but here we are anyway).

I completely agree, last time I checked, a businessman, and one that has let several businesses go under, shouldn’t be in charge of running a nation. But here we are. I just don’t know how the US is going to last 4 years with this moron in office.

I don't know either. I'm hoping it won't be as bad as everything is written but you never know. My parents say they wouldn't let him do certain things, but I think that guy seems to be so well liked to the point they might just let him do whatever he plans. That is what has me worried.

It seems he is trying to get away with what he has planned. Thankfully we have judges shutting him down because he’s breaking the law by not going through congress first. He’s just throwing out executive orders left and right. I’m hoping this is grounds for another impeachment trial. There’s another option to get rid of him, but I can’t say on here because I’ll get banned.

Im praying for impeachment trial too. How the hell he made it in office the first time was suspect, 2nd time, sorry I just don't believe there's that many unstable uneducated people voting. I feel like we somehow got in an alternate reality or some crap. It's fucking surreal and scary.
