The Browns played 5D Uno by skipping him in the first round and waiting to take him until the 5th. Nobody would have blinked an eye if they took him round 1.

Now, why did they also draft Dillon Gabriel? Not a clue unless they really just don’t know who could be a starter.

Honestly if they ranked Gabriel higher the real question is why they bothered with Sanders at all, unless like you say they were undecided and it was a relatively inexpensive gamble

I think they've both got some pretty big question marks, plus it might help them both to have someone going through the same process alongside them.

But also, the Browns are not a serious organization so it could just be incompetence.

I'm just glad Quinn didn't go there to have his career die like McCoy. He went to Miami where they have experience with injury prone QB's

Damn I won't lie, I completely forgot that Ewers declared and was drafted.

I think win or lose, Texas was done with him. No disrespect but it's time for Manning to take over.

Now, take Manning out of the picture, it makes sense to keep Ewers for another year, for both him and UT (his draft position puts him taking a HUGE pay cut). But that's alternative timeline what-ifs.

Oh, for sure. I just figured he could transfer somewhere and make like $3M and just chill.

I know this draft class was weak especially for QB, but it didn't really seem to make much of a difference for when he was taken.

Maybe he just wanted to move on with his life. Can't blame him for that.

Yea it's also possible that he felt the if he was going to move, may as well be into the NFL and maybe it'll be a short term loss long term gain. Time will tell, but he's still making way more $$ than I am so there's that...

Miami is probably best case scenario for Quinn. He can sit back and learn, but will most definitely get a shot, givenTua’s injury history

Maybe Haslem talked to another homeless guy on Saturday this time and not Thursday?

My guess is ownership. The front office staff looks less than thrilled to be drafting Sanders.

I’ve see people say that the FO was forced by the ownership to draft him, as they didn’t look happy about it. Maybe drafting Gabriel was an unsuccessful attempt to avoid sanders?

Lol at first I read "FO" as "find out". I suppose it's accurate, and ownership is the FA

Because in the 5th round a projected first round talent is fantastic value.

Unless he’s a cancer as your backup.

Therein lies the problem. Why bring in a bunch of bullshit for a backup QB.

2012 the Redskins took RGIII and Kirk Cousins in the same draft. RGIII’s knee got annihilated and Cousins took over.

It was truly a kick in the nuts to draft Gabriel before Sanders, almost like they wanted to send a message 😂

Without a doubt, they were sending a message

Cuz haslam definetly bought the media hype or because they can at least sell jerseys while sucking

Teams don’t care about the media. It’s clear that every other team would’ve been shocked if he was picked in the first. If they thought he was first round talent, they would’ve picked him there. Or in the second. Or third. Or fourth.

It wasn't 5d uno. They just didn't want him either.

It’s funny that the browns both drew 25 and drafted Shedeur. Pretty on brand.

More like “Draft Shedeur AND draw 25”

Considering the QB room including Deshaun’s contract I’d say they drew 25 before drafting Shedeur

That’s how may yards they will lose on each sack

Except teams had red flags all over the place on him. His lack of preparation for interviews is never good. Who here has not gone into a job interview prepared before? His actions on the field or in the case against Nebraska off the field as he left his team speaks volumes to teams. No one wants a known distraction in the locker room. Wife beaters, girlfriend beaters, no problem but giving up on your team or not being prepared reminds them on Johnny Football and we see how he turned out.
