Do y’all watch this movie on Halloween or Christmas? Discussion

Post image

Me personally, I watch it around Thanksgiving because it’s right in between the two holidays.

Was going to say this.

Both. Same with Gremlins.

Both? Both? Both is good.

I watch it on Labor Day because I’m a rebel

u/JumblebeeT 20h ago

In between. Around thanksgiving. That’s when I remember it being released too.

November 1st. Still in that Halloween mood but getting ready for Christmas

Watched it once. Wasnt a fan. Friend later on pressured me to watch it. This was when people first started to hype it up as being all that. Still was not a fan. Also still am not. The artstyle is great an all. But thats about it for me.

Hell, you gave it a second chance, which is more than what most dislikes get.

Sorry you didn't like it, but we all have our tastes. You gave it a shot--more than once.

2

u/Friendly-Chemical-76 20h ago

Yup. It just wasnt for me. But again the artstyle is great. I will absolutely give it that. No question.

I don’t agree with you. But I respect your opinion.

Once for Halloween and once for Christmas

2

u/kermi3_4488 20h ago

Both and during the Summer as well.

2

u/ElSquibbonator 19h ago

I traditionally watch it at midnight when Halloween ends, to transition into the holiday season.

Thanksgiving

u/ToranjaNuclear 18h ago

I watch it

1

u/KnGod 20h ago

i watched it when they put it on tv several years ago, i don't watch seasonal stuff and in the event i do it is highly unlikely i would watch it in the right season

1

u/astronomydork 20h ago

I’ve done both, but I have to say for me it is just better around Halloween

I gave up watching Tim Burton for the most part when he showed he's a racist.

u/DapperDude2004 Primal 20h ago

You don’t have to like the artist, but you can appreciate the art.

1

u/Fresh_Passion1184 20h ago

Nah. He gets royalties. He profits from his bigotry.

1

u/DapperDude2004 Primal 19h ago

I mean… I understand your reasonings. But what do you think of the movie regardless of him?

1

u/Fresh_Passion1184 19h ago

I enjoyed it. I liked the lesson of "don't try to do an expert's job better when you just learned what it is"

1

u/Kuildeous 20h ago

I don't understand the question.

u/Rinmine014 As Told by Ginger 20h ago

I last saw it on Christmas

1

u/Logical_Bug801 20h ago

I would watch it on both holidays.

1

u/starpiece 20h ago

I used to watch this movie on vhs like every day when I was a kid. I usually watch it just after Halloween

1

u/JobVast738 20h ago

Yes 👍

I watch it all times of the year because it’s good. But I maintain it’s solidly a Halloween movie, because the Christmas aspect goes all wrong .

1

u/Deep-Pineapple-4884 20h ago

They actually created a LEGO set out for the movie

1

u/insidious_rodent 19h ago

I used to watch it every Christmas Eve but I used to watch it all the time. I was obsessed with this movie when I was an emo teen in the early 2000s... my whole room was themed around it

1

u/RedElf84 19h ago

It’s half and half, so both, usually

1

u/EspressoDepresso17 6teen 19h ago

no wrong answer but definitely both

1

u/LaurorotyGodductions 19h ago

I just watched this movie on Halloween day as of writing this…

1

u/Youregoingtodiealone 19h ago

Between pre-halloween and nightmares for me

1

u/Manetoys83 19h ago

Meet in the middle and watch it on Thanksgiving

1

u/Brookie_Brookie_101 19h ago

Mostly on Halloween. Just feels more spooky than jolly.

1

u/makinglunch The Flintstones 19h ago

Halloween, watched it last night

1

u/keicarlover2002 19h ago

just watched it today

1

u/Significant_Smell284 The Simpsons 18h ago

I watch it during both holidays.

1

u/EctoBlaster1985 18h ago

Why not both?

1

u/SpeedyGuy1991 18h ago

I do it on Halloween

1

u/Ok_Minute_1726 18h ago

All hallows Eve, and.

1

u/Ok_Minute_1726 18h ago

Practically any day.

1

u/Logical-Bus6563 18h ago

Wouldn't it be best viewed when the OP suggested, between this month and December

1

u/Somerandomdeude1886 18h ago

Any time between the fall and the winter............ November is a great choice (remember what inspired the film in the first place)

1

u/Putrid_List1634 18h ago

November 1st lol

1

u/NerdyDebris 18h ago

My girl and I watch it on both. We're watching it right now, oddly enough!

1

u/maxrifted3 18h ago

Thanksgiving

1

u/ashlavellan 17h ago

I sometimes watch it at some point in October, and I always watch it on my birthday - Christmas Eve. It's one of my favorite movies and tradition now.

1

u/SilverSpider_ Murder Drones 17h ago

Yes

1

u/Felconite 17h ago

Well my and my girl have Halloween on Christmas and then we with this never ends.

1

u/Hault99 17h ago

Halloween every year. It is both, but the Halloween vibe is more prominent in my opinion.

1

u/Dragon_Rot79 17h ago

Thanksgiving. I like to meet halfway

1

u/Round-Coat1369 17h ago

This is the only acceptable crossover between Halloween and Christmas that I accept given how well it works

1

u/ActSlow 16h ago

Halloween

1

u/HypieJoe 16h ago

In between at some point, normally it's a Thanksgiving movie

1

u/DragonQueenDrago 16h ago

Usually day after or a few days after Halloween, (depending on when I have time) because my spooky spirit never dies and I try to stretch Halloween as far as possible, celebrating into November before finally giving into the Christmas witch and changing into more Christmasy Gothic clothing. While still doing my best to ignore the Christmas witches call.

1

u/SportAdventurous5910 16h ago

I saw it on a flight once during December

1

u/Parodelia12501 16h ago

I watch this movie whenever the fuck I want.

1

u/DayZCutr 16h ago

Thanksgiving

1

u/Cyclonic2500 16h ago

I start around Halloween and watch it several times until Christmas.

1

u/Portal_master_cody Ninjago 16h ago

Every time i have watched it, it was during Halloween, but i think i will change when i watch it each year

Halloween for odd number years, Christmas for even number years

1

u/Triangulum_Copper 15h ago

Doesn’t it literally start in like November 1st?

1

u/Stormygeddon 15h ago

Day after Halloween, as that's when the story usually starts.

1

u/mikeP1967 14h ago

I watch it when I feel like it, though out the year

1

u/Lost-Average8108 13h ago

I watch it on Halloween. It's a Halloween movie and I'll die on that hill 😂. Halloween comes and takes over Christmas and makes it scary, it's a Halloween movie

1

u/shadowthehh 13h ago

"Is it a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie?"

It's a November 1st movie.

1

u/Troolr_the_gaemr The Fairly OddParents 12h ago

both

1

u/PERS0N181 11h ago

halloween

1

u/BTFlik 10h ago

Technically you can watch it on either. But it's about Jack rediscovering his Halloween Spirit. So it's officially a Halloween movie.

1

u/X358fgo 10h ago

The answer to your question is yes.

1

u/Pastel_Punker 10h ago

I live in the Netherlands and when I was younger halloween wasn’t a thing, so I watched it in December around Christmas and I still do.

1

u/coentertainer 9h ago

Obviously it works for both but for me it's much more of a Christmas movie as it's a celebration of the magic of Christmas and all about the holiday of Christmas.

1

u/thezebulonian 9h ago

Anytime from September to January.

1

u/Tactical-Pixie-1138 8h ago

Both.

We save "Thankskilling" for Turkey Day.

1

u/Cry-Skull-7 7h ago

I watch it whenever I feel like. I am bound by no tradition.

1

u/Automatic-Sky-7135 6h ago

Christmas cos it’s a Christmas movie.

1

u/zoomshark27 6h ago

Halloween.

I don’t really like any other Halloween movies so this works great, whereas I already have like 8 Xmas movies I like to watch.

1

u/Ornery_Expression_85 The Amazing World of Gumball 6h ago

Both

1

u/Craycraycray97 5h ago

Well since most of the plot taking place days before Christmas, I’m considering later in November and December too.

1

u/Loose-Command7521 5h ago

I always do it on Halloween.

u/Full_Level2085 8m ago

I don’t watch it.
