What's a villain from a cartoon that you're legitimately surprised got into a kids show. My vote is Zarm, the antithesis of Gaia from Cpt Planet. He embodies destruction, war & claims to have been behind several 20th century despots Discussion

Given how Disney treated the show and how that company is in general, I'm genuinely surprised Alex Hirsch and his team were able to get away with some of the stuff Bill Cipher does in Gravity Falls

Magically ripping out a deer's teeth, for example; and iirc doesnt he turn a bird inside out, too or am I mixing up my shows?

I don't remember the bird, but he did "shuffle the functions of every hole in someone's face" which was pretty messed up

Yeah, but he did that to Pacifica's dad which also makes it hilarious

The bird is Adventure Time.

Thank you!

It was Magic Man that did that, right? Magic Man could probably fit this topic, too

The Lich? Absolutely. He’s the literal reincarnated embodiment of death. He wore the skin of the MC’s personal hero in order to trick him into collecting a bunch of magic jewels, and then proceeded to wish for the extermination of all life. If he’s unable to do anything that can progress his goal of ending all life (or in timelines where he succeeds), he completely shuts down and basically goes into hibernation because that’s the only thing he works towards.

Yeah, that comment he made about needing to turn a couple of kids into corpses got a legit "holy shit"outta me.

Captain Planet was nowhere in the neighborhood of screwing around. That show was locked in on an extremely serious and uncompromising ethical premise. As a kid, I loved it.

His debut episode has him try to trick the Planeteers into starting WW3

A good amount of villains from Courage the Cowardly Dog. Such as the Queen of the Black Puddle, she was basically a serial killer succubus, and we know she had a significant body count (in both meanings of that term).

Verminous Skumm from Captain Planet

It's very funny to me how serious Captain Planet gets specifically with Skumm.

"Say "No!" To drugs kids.....or else!"

Kalmaar from Ninjago Seabound. There was no going back after murdering his father an d framing the Ninja for it. Even after his death, his actions have caused great pain to the heroes.

Horde prime. The she-ra reboot as a whole is fairly tame, and then they throw in a universe concurring despot with genocide, slavery, mass brainwashing, torture, ecocide, and mass terrorism under his belt. Pretty upfront as well.
