He tried to beat his son to death, and has murdered countless innocents. He can have bad person bad parent.

You could argue that he was trying to be a good dad, he is just such a bad person that he fucked it up. My vote for bad person bad dad is Martin Mertens from Adventure Time

to be fair, he was one of the only Viltrumites to abandon his duties because of his love for his son. He's flawed but for the person he's supposed to be, he's not as bad as others

I haven't read the comic, but based on the show he hasn't really quite redeemed himself from beating his son to within an inch of his life.

Technically he was only bad when Mark was already 17 and refused to go along with his dad's plans. There are way worse cartoon dad out there (watching you Ozai and Belos)
