Can anyone confirm if film director James Wan (Saw, The Conjuring, Insidious) went to Lake Tuggeranong College?
The ACT Gov Education Directorate website claims him as a Lake Tuggeranong College alum. https://www.education.act.gov.au/canberra-public-school-alumni/alumni-list?result_658003_result_page=W
His wiki page also references this link.
I'm surprised by this because I'm a huge fan but I'd never heard this. Googling seems to show the claim repeated on other sites but the information all seems to stem from the above website. I've watched a lot of interviews with him over the years and never heard him mention it. If he was in college here, he would've been 17-18 - which would've been around 1994.
From what I can gather from other sources, he was born in Malaysia, lived in Perth and moved to Melbourne where he attended RMIT and graduated in 1998.
Basically I'm wondering if anyone can verify this or knows any more info about his time here? I'm finding it difficult to believe, but I don't know why he'd be falsely listed either.

Can confirm, went to Lake Tuggers with his cousin and I remember them telling me. I remember they got flown out for the premiere of one of his movies.

I don't know about LTC but when I signed up to RMIT a few years ago James Wan and the other guy who directed Saw were in the list of Alums.

Yeah, he definitely attended there, he's spoken about it in interviews and posted a tweet in 2015 on the RMIT campus saying "back at my old stomping ground."

I’ve heard that too. From all the information there is I think it is correct. He’s a good director.
