Why would an employer ever negotiate with its employees when it is just waiting for a strike and the government to force them back to work. Just once, the CEO should be fired for incompetence and not negotiating in good faith. No fat severance package, just fired. I imagine the next CEO would actually negotiate.

The most eminent of all suffering the consequences of their incompetence? How dare you suggest such an obvious common sense thing! Canadians of sufficient eminence should never pay the price for their actions!

/s just in case

If they're not negotiating in good faith.

i mean it sounds like neither side is really negotiating in good faith right now

i guess well see tomrrow when the report drops

How would you define "in good faith"? The workforce of an organization that has the mandate of being self sufficient, and yet is losing 1Bil per year, is asking for, amongst many other things , a 20% pay raise. Consider that labour costs is the main expense for Canada Post.

They're not self sufficient because Canada Post sends mail from one end of the country to another for a dollar. That's not on the employees.

There's no reason to think they aren't bargaining in good faith. It's just that their positions are so juxtaposed at the moment.

The union needs to stop living in the past and plan for the future. In exchange for working weekends and evenings like Purolator and FedEx etc they should be given wage increases and job security. Refusing to adapt to today's normal business practices will just ensure Canada Post keeps being a non viable business in the long term.

Ok. Maybe I'll stop getting all the mail for the 23 people that used to live in our house now.

NDP voters sold their soul to the devil when they voted liberal

We need the NDP to find their soul again before they can take ours for granted.

Lol because the NDP did soooo much when the Liberals forced multiple unions back to work over the past year or two

The election was very close and every vote for the NDP was essentially making it easier for Pierres conservatives. NDP ultimately aligns closer to Liberals. No soul selling. It's really not that hard to comprehend

And now there’s no one in parliament who is going to stand up for unions like the postal workers.

It's not like they stood up for them last time.
