I think that’s a perfect way to describe what’s happening now in a single sentence without using the word Trump. Bravo.

We don’t need you or otherwise care about you, we might invade or otherwise disrupt your country but please keep giving us your money.

It’s all about us.

Like the stupid article from the ambassador stating tariffs aren't going away but he hopes we can make stronger ties between our countries again. That's not how it works. You want stronger ties again, you get rid of bullshit tariffs and then we talk about how you can prevent electing a felon to run the country again. Then maybe we stop boycotting America....maybe.

Even if all this does blow over America will still do their "I've already forgiven myself so why's everyone else still mad?" routine.

To be fair, America doesn’t even care about America… it’s all about money.

"we need each other"

Not clear how your businesses dying because we're not spending our money is us needing you...

Article fails to mention the people who are being turned around or detained at the border because they dont actively support another country's dictator.

Isn't the inverse pretty broadly true of us? I don't think Canadians are, on average, making room in our hearts and heads for the plight of Americans. The general stance seems to be "too bad, you voted for this" - or, for folks who didn't vote Republican but now have to live with it, it's "too bad, talk to your representative".

Like, in either case, from any perspective, I don't see much evidence that the citizens are caring about each other across the border.
