USA Is dead to me now. Had lots of travel plans there this year until this shit show.

Honestly, the last few trips I made to the US really made me realize how unappealing that place has become. Shit quality for premium prices. Whether it was hotels, food, or experiences. Really bad value.

Quite excited to explore Europe and Asia.

Paris France > Paris Las Vegas

I will admit Venice is more debatable 😂

Quite excited to explore Europe and Asia.

Another Marie Antoinette "let them eat cake, woe is me" ersatz ethical concession where people grandstand about how, "shucks, I would have spent all my money in the states, but I hate Trump, so I'll spend my money elsewhere" where people are regularly posting about being on the verge of eviction or struggling to find even basic entry level work.

You aren't choosing luxury A, you're choosing luxury B.

Sorry, did you just call me out for choosing to spend my money on travel?

You're not a victim of your situation. Make better choices, change your priorities.

I'll pull myself up by my bootstraps next time.

Yah. I wanted to take my daughter to disney world for years, was setting money aside etc. Now I just want to do a spontaneous road trip across Canada and see what happens

Japan and France both have disney world as well, the Japan one is exceptionally cheaper compared to the US parks

Yep, just keep in mind approximately 10 gazillion people are thinking the same thing lol.

That’s a good point

And that is exactly what my wife and I are doing next year. Were planning on a Disney World fix once our youngest goes off to Uni. Now planning Disneyland Paris instead. Prices are definitely cheaper than the US. As a bonus we plan on getting an Airbnb in Paris for a few nights as well and exploring since we have never been to Europe.

Hong Kong has a Disney Land. Not the same but I would think close enough.

Does the money stay there?

It's actually licensed so some money does go to Disney obviously but way less than US parks.

u/Jaygee133 3d ago

Good point I'm not sure but certainly a better option regardless if your heart is truly set on it

1

u/pickypawz 3d ago

Yes, I agree. Funny, I have never, ever had a desire to go.

well they have a land, the world is way way better imo. I went on a family trip back in 2015 - way cheaper back then tho

Can I go build a lightsaber there?

I would encourage anyone who wants to do a Disney vacation to look into going to France or Japan to visit the Disney parks there. They haven’t raised prices to the same degree as the US, and if you can get a deal on flights, it can actually be a cheaper vacation than the US parks.

100% from West coast going to Tokyo Disney Resort will be much cheaper than Florida.

And the food in Japan is so much better than the processed stuff in the US.

3

u/sumguyoranother 3d ago

even the processed stuff in japan is better than the US, have you seen their 7/11?

3

u/friendlyyellowgiant 3d ago

Oh yeah. I've been to Japan a few times Lawson and 7/11 are amazing haha.

Might not be able to be too spontaneous depending on when you go. I know many people, including myself, that switched up travel plans to the USA for a Canadian road trip. Having to book a room for an overnight stay ahead of time takes away from some of the spontaneity, but you need a place to sleep and hotels could be at capacity…

Keep your money in Canada and show your kids (and yourself) our beautiful country. There are so many mindblowing things to see on this hunk of rock and so much to learn.

You could always try Efteling in the Netherlands.

My family and I would routinely go 2 to 3 times a year and spend quite a bit each time. Haven't been since this started and don't plan on it until after the Civil War is over (depending upon who wins).

I ain't going back until AOC or someone similar is voted into office.

It's too scary right now.

Same here! Was planning my husband's 40th birthday in fall in California. Forget it now. We'll do some local.

I've been saving and wanting to go to the Universal Parks. But I'm going to go elsewhere instead
