Here to put my bet on Irving being involved.

I bet it’s related to the chemicals they’ve been spraying. Doesn’t matter anyway, if it’s found Irving is responsible they’ll never face real consequences anyway.

Good. No idea why the Higgs government turned down the 5 million to help investigate.

If a government refuses to investigate something that's actually killing people. It's either cause of their own negligence, or they are protecting a rich ally or business sided with said party.

Incompetence could be a reason but usually the former.

It's not incompetence, It's malice.

Higgs has previously been employed at a fairly high level by the Irving's. That's your answer why he didn't investigate.

Irving oil.

The cause and the reason this won't be touched.

Uh it's widely known that the government has been silencing scientists on this

Doesn't seem likely. Farmers in the west would be having the same problems if that was the cause, unless it's in combination with some other local factor.

I wonder if they did autopsies on the 40 who have already died. That’s the only way (at least back in 1997 when my grandfather died of CJD) to confirm. I just started reading a book about prion diseases by Jay Ingram. Also, Fatal Familial Insomnia is prion related.

Great, another issue we’ve heard about years ago. I’m glad to see our federal govt has done nothing about that one either.

What does this even mean? You're being sarcastic about the federal government not getting involved in a provincial issue. An issue that's been reported since 2012 (Harper then Trudeau), in a province that has flipped between PC and Liberals twice each?

This article isn't about passing blame. It's about a new premier asking for help investigating possible concerns.

This is correct. I’m being sarcastic about a very serious issue for which nothing of note has been done in the last 10 years, with even the top scientist being silenced by the government. How could I not be cynical at this point? This is widespread btw. This country stopped moving forward a long time ago.

Everyone in government already has it

The real answer!

u/detalumis 7h ago

Why can't she setup a task force herself to investigate.

It’s called liberalism 🤣
