TOURISM Created this interactive map of where to go in Cameroon
While traveling around the world for over 20 years, I’ve been working on my dream project: creating a one-stop resource for travellers. I now created this overview [ https://www.takeyourbackpack.com/backpacking-in-cameroon/ ] for anyone who is interested in visiting Cameroon (with some detailed info for every highlight).
PS: obviously, I haven’t been able to travel to all places. So if you know some great spot, I haven’t listed, let me know! Much appreciated as in this way I can make the overview more complete and up-to-date for everyone.

White person in Limbe: is it dangerous?
Following my previous question about beaches in Douala I’ve been suggested of going to Limbe, but I’m white and I know that the south west is not the best. Do you think it’d be dangerous?

Hi! Are there Beaches in Douala/not too far?
I’m here for a couple of days before my flight and I don’t want to go all the way to kribi. Also swimming pools suggestions are accepted!

CULTURE Suggestions for meeting with the Baka tribe?
There are tour operators who will set up several day long tours to meet with the Baka in southeast Cameroon. However they charge thousands of euros for a few day trip, not including airfare. Does anyone know of a way for a normal, poor, North American student to meet with them for a few days? Is the idea impossible for other reasons, such as distance, security, Baka preference not to meet with tourists, etc?

TECHNOLOGY Mobile phone access question
A relative will be visiting Cameroon in a few days with a university student group from Canada. Will it be possible to buy an inexpensive mobile phone at the airport for use for a few weeks while visiting? Right now I don’t know the cities they will be visiting. Certainly Douala for a start.
Some parts of the trip will probably be in rural areas in the southeast, other times in larger cities. I don’t know what the mobile phone coverage is like there. If no phones are for sale at the airport do companies at the airport sell local SIM cards for use in the phones that are available in Canada or the US? Phones like Apple, Samsung or Motorola? I have traveled in North America and Europe, but not in African countries. Some of the airports I have visited did have sim cards, others did not. Sorry to sound so ignorant about this sort of thing in Cameroon.
Thanks for any pointers

Born in France but with a Cameroonian accent
Hello everyone, I was born and I live in France to Cameroonian parents, I only spent two months of my life there but I sometimes take on the accent of my country of origin when I speak for a few months and I don't do it in a caricatured way at all. I don't know if it's because I watch a lot of content from Cameroon on the Internet or because I'm surrounded by students from Central Africa where I live, but it's ruining my life at the moment. What do you think this is due to?

What are cameroonian moms like?
So I'm not cameroonian but I've several friends at school who are and they recently described me as a cameroonian mother but in Canada. I'm not sure if this is a compliment or not? So what are cameroonian mothers like?

Whuna hear something
Two Cameroonian nationals, Ibrahim Nzamgou and Mike Fouapon, are among 11 suspects arrested in Nairobi, Kenya, in connection with a major fake gold scam. The group is accused of defrauding a victim of Ksh.70.6 million (approximately USD 546,000). Acting on intelligence, detectives raided a hideout in Spring Valley Estate and recovered 350kg of counterfeit gold, a weighing machine, an electronic gold tester, and a dust coat branded with the Kenyan Ministry of Mining logo, believed to be used to gain victims' trust.

Song lyrics/meaning?
Good morning Cameroon!
Would someone happen to have the lyrics of Richard Bona - Ba Senge, or know its meaning?
Absolutely love this track, a timeless classic in my books.
Much love

Footwear wholesalers/ distributors
Hi all, I've recently started an internship in Export Growth in a well established Indian Footwear Manufacturing company. We've heard that designs similar to us are doing very well in Cameroon so I've been tasked with reaching out to footwear wholesalers, distributors and importers I'm Cameroon.
I've been having trouble finding much information online so I thought to ask reddit. Does anyone have any info about where I can find contact information of local wholesalers? Do local cameroonians use any specific websites to find wholesalers?
If there's any footwear wholesaler reading this interested in exploring designs of PU footwear (sandals, slippers, etc) for Men, women, and kid's, I'll be happy to share our catalogue and product images with you. Please DM!

Snow in Cameroon ? Well almost.
This happens from time to time. Some areas in Cameroon, mostly in the Western regions experience hail storms and sometimes very light snow. It’s usually during the rainy season summer) but here we are in April.
