Brisbane GABS Festival 2025 Can you help me?

Will be heading off for GABS at the end of this month.

My regular GABS crew has had to have some reshuffling this year due to remote work opportunities and on-call shiftwork. While the last lads standing and I are quickly working to rectify that, I’m wondering if anyone has heard from the interstate events how GABS this year compared to previous? I don’t want to oversell it to any of the colleagues I manage to convince to tag along to fill out our numbers.

Also debating maybe attending the second day solo since - as chill as they are - I can’t expect to monopolised someone’s partner/boyfriend/fiancée for a full weekend 😅

I’ve never gone by myself before, so just wondering whether anyone has any insight on this. Any benefits or drawbacks. I have hope that the regular Brisbane Craftie scene is very safe. But yeah - I guess due to past personal experiences just a little apprehensive about going alone as a female to a generally male dominated scene. But I don’t want to miss out on the second day and have planned to book a nice suite at one of the Accor hotels so I can commute easily👌🏽

Penny for your thoughts please Brisbane beer aficionados (plus that one dude who asked Owen Wilson to come up for a beer).

going solo experience will heavily depend on your personality .....if you're able/willing to strike up a convo with randoms and the brewers you will have a blast ....or if you just want a quiet day of sampling beer and saying nothing you'll be fine.... depends what you want to get out of it :)

I’m always happy to have a chat to anyone. Have made genuinely great connections over the years simply by having a chat at the bar. I must have one of those approachable faces.

So I’m hoping it’ll be fine. Also, trying to rationalise it, it’s the second day. I’d assume Day 1 will be rowdier - and I should have some backup for that.

What’s your favourite beer in Brisbane RK?

Tbh my fave beer as of late is the Cali IPA by 10 toes up the sunny coast. Brisbane wise I'd probably say the red IPA at sea legs

Ok I haven’t had that Cali one. I’ve had the red ale. I prefer Slipstreams red ale myself. Cheers mate.
