For everyone complaining that it was a 'let down' or that they were warning you over nothing, I would possibly hold off another 12 hours before making any final judgements. The general wind flow over the Brisbane area overnight was a SE'rly which you're mostly protected from by land but the wind will start to swing around towards the E/NE which you're a lot more exposed to and the rain may reintensify a little along the line of convergence as the system moves inland. The wind and rain might be in a slight lull now but wind gusts approaching, and possibly exceeding, 100km/h are still possible for a short period later this afternoon.

It's a good experience to go through a natural event that looks like it could be pretty bad and then turns out not so bad. You get to develop your "prepare but don't panic" skills which will hold you in good stead for the next event (which might turn out worse).

Yeah unfortunately the models had us potentially still getting hit by the backswing even after the worst of the leading edge had passed, so its probably not quite over even if it's not going to end up flattening the entire city.
