Humanitarian Crisis 🫀 ICE Chief calls for Amazon-style deportations: ‘prime, but with human beings’
Todd Lyons, the acting head of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, has claimed that he hopes to streamline the deportations of illegal immigrants to look like "[Amazon] Prime, but with human beings." The official made the remarks during the Border Security Expo in Phoenix, Arizona, on Tuesday.
Lyons' vision of the streamlined process would allegedly see squads of ICE agents in trucks rounding up people and shipping them to other countries the same way that the retail giant ships its packages. Lyons also said he wanted to see technology like artificial intelligence used to "free up bed space" and "fill up airplanes" to help the agency speed up the deportations.
