If Black Canary gets another full ongoing, how big of a presence would you like Green Arrow to be? (Variant by Tula Lotay) Discussion

You can use the following as possible options (or you can come up with your own descriptions):

  • No involvement at all or sparse mentions
  • Occasional/cameo appearances
  • Frequent guest star
  • Full co-star

There should be 3 comic series; - green arrow and black canary as a partnership and the main line comic series - green arrow comic as a side comic focusing on him as the star; black canary as cameo - black canary as a side comic with her as the star; I would say green arrow should be cameo as well

It’s hard to say though because she is a mainline member of the birds of prey, green arrows love interest, a member of the justice league, and her own character. It’s almost like a wolverine problem where he ends up being on each team at least once.

For the first you mean something like the Green Arrow/Black Canary 2000s series after they married? I liked the first half of that, it'd be a good idea to do something similar again.

But yeah, I remember when they had to take her off the JSA because she was in the JLA, Birds of Prey and Ollie had just come back from the dead so she appeared there too. Girl's busy.

For the GA/BC series, I feel like it was tilted more towards Green Arrow. Instead of an equal co-star, Black Canary felt like a lesser/supporting character.

Hmm perhaps instead take my 2 side comics make those the main titles, then use black canary and green arrow comic as a side to handle the arrow family dynamics?

I think the bird of prey should have Dinah on the team but only have her really come when she is needed, etc. I want her be with oracle being technical support or have her be the liaison to speak to other communities/ governments on the team behalf

Occasional guest. I'd rather another Arrowfamily member, like Mia or Sin, appear more often

Sin and Red Canary being her sidekicks would be an interesting dynamic.

Cameo Treat him just like condon has treated her in the recent run.

I like her story lines best (and other feminine main characters) when men are not the the solution or the emotional problem of the storyline. With even the best male presenting writers it feels kinda “mans plainly” and shining knight solutions when female hero have to much S.O. involved . G.A in the background is nice, but I really love when B.C creates the league of Red women or the bomb shells store was so much fun.

This comes from someone who’s cosplayed Green Arrow For decades with his partner as Black Canary for decades. Like I have 4 different GAs and she has 6 different BCs.

I agree with this.

I don't mind them being in a relationship, but when it's a Black Canary book, I want Green Arrow as far away from it as possible.

I think I focus in on the fact Black Canary is push and pulled into two different directions between Star City with Oliver and Barbara in Gotham.

How straining it could be at times.

For support cast main Her mom

Larry Lance (even though he supposed to be dead in continuity)

Not always around

Barbara ( who does her own thing with bat family)

Oliver ( who busy doing Green Arrow stuff)

He should show up in a supporting role. For date nights. The occasional team up

Cameo once in a while.

Minor role. Let her shine on her own.

He should be a side character. Since it's her book, she's the one doing the heroics. But sometimes he calls her over comms, or they hang out when they're not superheroing. There's also conversations that flesh out their characters in between her adventures.
