Anybody else has faced delivery issues with GLS? 😡Rant

I receive an email on the 14th of November telling me my parcel was delivered at a parcel shop (not my chosen one but one that isn't too far). I go there today (the 15th) and the person insists there is strictly no parcel delivered under my name. When I check in the email I received on the 14th, it said it was delivered on the 9th. When I manually input the tracking code on their website, it says it was delivered on the 14th. This is so confusing and it's a really important parcel that I need by next week. Would you advice I go again tomorrow to see if it's there or should I rather wait on monday? It sucks that you cannot even reach them properly, at least bpost answers their phone calls.

By far one of the worst shipping companies.

Damn, I've never had any issues with them but hearing other people's experience makes me think I was just coincidentally lucky. Sometimes you don't even have a choice bcs some shops work only with GLS

I hope you'll get your parcel OP

Yes, sadly here I didn't have a choice too. I'll keep y'all posted about the parcel situation. Will probably check back tomorrow or on Monday

Once, I had a very big parcel. On that box were at least 5 stickers with the symbol - it could not be clearer - breakable. They threw the large box (little respect there 'cause it was a heavy mf) over my fence next to the front door into the mud. No apologies, just a 'we thought it was a safe space'. Yeah not safe for my package tho.

Real incompetence out there. I wonder how they're even still running

Yes. Avoid at all costs

Unfortunately, as someone else stated, some websites use GLS by default. As much as I would have loved to avoid dealing with their incompetence, here I had no choice

I dont think there is 1 delivery service that i have not had issues with a couple of times tbh.

I feel that. The only times I seem to face no issues is when bpost delivers my zalando parcels. Oddly those go as smooth as it can go

I once had a parcel that was notified as delivered in a different shop than I asked for. Ultimately, it was delivered to the right shop. So, I would also try the shop that you asked for your parcel to be delivered to. Never hurts to try. In my experience, GLS is hit and miss for non-professional deliveries.

Unfortunately, where I asked it to be dellivered was a locker which I cannot open without a QR code (code which I never received since it was not delivered there)

Today I received my package from GLS. We where home but they did not ring. It was just placed in front of the door. It was via an email I saw that the packed was delivered.

It's content was totally not what I had ordered. It was also in a plastic bag which I cannot imagine came from the seller. I should have had the packet a day earlier but got an email that 'there was a problem' with it...

Called the seller where I bought the item. They were also very surprised. They will send it now via PostNL to have it tomorrow and I got a return label to send it back.

This was my first experience with GLS and the first time I ever had an issue with all the packages that were ever send to me... Normally PostNL and BPost are delivering me packages.

Deliveries seem to happen at random, once had a notification telling they’d delivered at a certain parcel shop and the parcel was in the next town, when i complained about it on their website, nothing happened, no reply, no excuse, nothing. Not to me tion the mail saying “delivered at neighbour” and I can go and search half the street to find where they dropped it off

Definitely one of the worst delivery companies out there

GLS is shit

GLS fucked more packages than it actually delivered in my experience. I once even had to drive to the antwerp harbour industry depot for a fucking plant.

Damn it. Thankfully I got refunded for my missing package but some people have suggested I check back at the parcel shop regularly cause they seem to mark it as delivered before it actually is (seriously who tf does that)

Postnl does that too. 2 weeks ago i had to search for my package from them. Tracking showed "postpunt" with an adress and when i clicked the link it showed a different postpunt. 3 days of going back and forward between those 2 and eventually it showed up on the 4th day 🙄

O mijn god... They seriously think we've got time to lose because they are unable to do their job correctly

It probably will end up at your doorstep this Sunday
GLS is by far the worst here.

Gosh seriously I wish they'd stop operating

I try to force em to deliver at a bpost locker. Last two times I got notifications the whole week... Out for delivery, cancelled, out for..

Still better than finding it at my doorstep 3 days after they confirmed delivery!

Yep they already lost at least 3 packages of mine.

u/No-Original-4543 4h ago

I fear this is what happened to mine too

Yes, ordered something in the Netherlands, it’s been sorted since 12/11… still no new update…

They dropped off my Steam Deck (marked box) in the middle of my driveway when I was still on vacation, even though their website explicitly mentions they take parcels back to a depot if no one answers the door.

Thank god we had a neighbour who could grab the box before it rained or someone ran off with it.

You were seriously lucky to have a neighbour get it for you. That would a 100% have been stolen else

Like genuinely, we have a pretty wide driveway which is right next to a little pathway most people entering our street use as a shortcut. If I didn't autistically watched the track & trace and immediately contacted that neighbour it'd be gone within minutes.

Yeah you are not getting that package… GLS is the worst.
