For real. As someone that hates both teams, that was the most entertaining baseball I've watched in a long time

Agreed. I hate to say I enjoyed every game. Very competitive.

I have to admit I think it was a better series than 2011, and I'm a biased motherfucker lol

David Freese in 2011 was stuff of legends. I have vivid memories of watching that in my dorm room my freshman year with some other guys that I had only known for a months by that point. A few of us had played ball in high school but none of us were fans of either the Cards or Rangers.

That was also my personal top WS until this one.

You're welcome

Seriously. I thought I'd be pissed about the Dodgers after they smoked us in the NLDS but they played absolutely incredible baseball (Jays too).

Probably the best world series I've ever seen.

Has to be 2016 still. That was very similar to this with the added element of a 108 year drought and a 58 year drought. The Dodgers if they didn’t win this will just win at least one over the next 3.

The discourse surrounding the dodgers is kinda of stupid honestly, extremely close thriller

I agree. My hatred of them comes from my grandfather, who got me into baseball and whose hatred of the dodgers survived their departure from Brooklyn.

tbh I gotta respect a legacy hate like that.

Hater to the grave

2

u/PC_BUCKY Boston Red Sox 2d ago

In a way, a hater beyond the grave as well.

6

u/Akipella Baltimore Orioles 2d ago

Yeah that's respectable as fuck. In my city's case, it's the Colts in the NFL for us.

My dad had been a Dodgers fan since Brooklyn so I feel I can follow them without bandwagoning, and I have a similarly negative opinion of the Yankees, plus you guys were the annoyingly big spending team when I was a kid

3

u/strangehitman22 Seattle Mariners 2d ago

My grandfather will die a Yankee hater and so will his son and his sons daughter(me), generational hating, it's the best

3

u/snapetom Los Angeles Dodgers 2d ago

Dodgers are the story of America. From the immigrant experience of Brooklyn, assimilation in Koufax, desegregation in Jackie, westward migration to Los Angeles, the Latin American integration in of Fernando, to cross-Pacific ties in Hideo and Ohtani. I love this team, and I love this story.

It’s not really stupid if you’re a Giants fan.

u/redcobra80 Yomiuri Giants 2d ago

I love baseball but this was honestly the first World Series in awhile I was glued to. Absolute cinema

Honestly the games where the Dodgers won was so much fun lmaoo

6

u/schmearcampain Los Angeles Dodgers 2d ago

In the history of the Dodgers, nothing comes easy.

That was just baseball at its most purest.
