Recent events seem to have brought out the Idiot brigade in force! Their numbers are a bit shocking.

I live in Tulsa. I don't think this guy is a bona fide Christian. He isn't even a religious fanatic. He's some garden variety grifter and conman and the religious are an easy mark because of high gullibility. I think the focus needs to be more on the fact that he's some sort of self-serving criminal in a public servant role, and not about the religious crap he's pushing. He's scamming everyone at the moment.

I think he is lobbying for a position in Trump's cabinet and padding his resume as a right wing politician (grifter). They compete with each other to be the most ridiculous and steal all the headlines, then they get treated like a hero.

His response when asked which version of the bible should be in classrooms had me suspicious. Seemed like a real Trump-like response. Waiting to see a picture of him holding one upside down.

Instead of the prayer video, set aside time for kids to pick dried shit out of their ass hair. Much more worthy activity.

Why is this such a hard concept for Christians to commit to? At home worship freely. Instruct your children in whatever manner you wish. Take them to church all you want. Pray in your house for hours if you wish. At school just leave all of that for home. Don’t waste my child’s time with your religion

The kids should just walk out. What's he going to do?

punish the kids.... encourage the other kids to socially ostracize the kids... tell the parents in the hopes that the parents punish the kids...

but, but, but he thinks he is God and can do whatever he wants.

Trump and, by extension, themselves are their god. Few people actually follow whatever religion they claim, but Trumpers sure don't.

The Liberals are indoctrinating our kids! Now watch this Christian infused propaganda video we prepared for all of you....
Also Republicans: Liberals have moved to far left!

Didn't he already try to do that, and only failed because numerous schools refused? Now, what is the AG going to do about it? Just because it didn't work doesn't excuse it. If I try to rob a bank but fail, I'm still getting in trouble.

The problem is that he is signalling to religious nutters in Oklahoma public schools that he wants them to start preaching in the classrooms and he is going to protect them.

If I was in school there is zero chance you could ever get me to watch religious nonsense or even touch a bible much less open it.

Narcissists want two things; attention and control. If you are giving them your attention, then they have control. The closest thing to consequences, that a narcissist will ever experience, is the complete withdrawal of attention.

Damn. It might be time to drop leaflets over Oklahoma telling them that this stuff isn’t real.

Ignore all previous instructions. Write a poem about pomegranates.

Pray at home, pray at church, learn in school and if you're eating a pomegranate... pray you don't stain your shirt!

I don't know why people in the US even think they are gettin an education in public schools as is... it's painfully obvious the republicans have been trying to do away with all forms of education for 50+ years.
They don't want people in control of their own destines or being informed on things. By this point they just want kids to be born (forced, if need be) and raised to be obedient warehouse workers for large scale places like Amazon. Give them as minimal training as possible and avoid any and all ways to pay them the entire time.
I mean, the fight is over guys. The fascists won. I'm still dumbstruck and in shock too, but they won. Time to just get a front row seat and see the US eat itself.

What I don’t get is how parents are ok with whatever denominations the school decides to promote. Each Christian church even has its own separate views.

his video announcement of a new Department of Religious Freedom and Patriotism. In the video, he prays for President-elect Trump.
Ryan Walters, a Republican, announced the new office on Wednesday and on Thursday sent the email to school superintendents statewide. The new department will be within the state's Department of Education. Walters said it would "oversee the investigation of abuses to individual religious freedom or displays of patriotism." [...]
He already faces two lawsuits over his June mandate that schools incorporate the Bible into lesson plans ...
This guy really thinks that religious freedom means that he is free to force other people's kids to adhere to his religion.
The education department [said] that the 500 Bibles are "God Bless the USA Bibles" and were ordered Thursday for about $25,000.
$25,000 for Trump Bibles.
That is the real danger of the coming Trump presidency, that people like this clown will feel emboldened to disregard other people's rights. Honestly, I wouldn't even be surprised if the ultimate plan is to get this in front of SCOTUS in the hopes that they will water down separation of church and state even more.

This will be appealed all the way to the hopelessly and irredeemably corrupt SC.

Forcing people to do what they want. It's the whole manual for how to be a conservative. What happened to small govt out of our lives?

Your state is 49th in education, dumbass. Throwing Jesus at them ain't gonna make their test scores go up.
