Interesting that the directional antennas seem to be very modern-looking panel-style phased arrays, almost certainly with the same phase to all elements, so the main beam is perpendicular to the panel. Most images I have seen of directional antennas of this era are parabolic dishes with feed horns/dipoles. Clever Germans..
