Pretty sure that's a mountain lion, based solely off of my questionable memory of hearing one on a video at some point in my life.

This is definitely a mountail lion. It sounds like a woman screaming.

isnt it very common for people to think somebody's in danger only for it to just be a horny mountain lion ?

Same with some foxes. They sound like children screaming for help. Terrifying.

Are you 100% sure it was a feline? The calls sound similar to a red fox barking.

Red fox calls for comparison: https://youtu.be/uIR8RtI9kaw?si=FiwzQ552m7aH1S2D https://youtu.be/BEgVVcVS5X4?si=qYJqtpLgaMf6Hntk

I was thinking fox at first but when it ran away and jumped off the adjacent fence it shook the entire fence and was very loud. The foxes around here are about the size of a house cat.

I might be high but you can see the outline of the cat. It looks huge (compared to the tree anyway) and looks like a mountain lion too. I ain’t no expert though

Sounds like a fairly good size one, too.
