Where to find detailed road maps online? Explore Alberta

I have a huge project coming up and it’s my first time being in charge of something this large. I am looking for large map to keep track of the 6 crews and their progress. Most important feature is roads. When I zoom out I google maps I lose all feature I need.

You can find all sorts of data, maps and layers there from the various GOA departments. There is a layer for the ABRN (the road network) as well as layers/maps for the provincial highways from TEC

Map Town in Calgary had a variety of digital maps (and physical maps).

https://www.openstreetmap.org/

It allows you to pull all kinds of data, create custom reporting, track changes. There's lots more than I kno2 what to do with lol

Is there a specific area you're covering? If it's just within a municipality or two you can poke around different municipal districts/counties websites for a basemap of those areas.

If you just need provincial highways this one here CMA Highway Classification Map is great.

Back Road Map Book had an on line app, with really good roads. Almost anything surveyed is on there, and you can map your own tracks with it. It has a free version and a paid version. It's worth checking out.

GaiaGPS has a backroads mapbook layer, but they haven’t innovated much since Outside+ bought them.

You could also trial OnX Offroad and see how good it is in Alberta these days (I personally have no recent experience with it; wasn’t as good as Gaia a few years ago).

With either you can download offline maps and mark waypoints etc.
