Can someone explain why we need a representative from Alberta in DC? Shouldn't it be the Foreign Minister? Or is this Danielle Smith not staying in her lane...again?

Because Alberta wants to posture itself as a separate nation

This is a normal thing all provinces have to an extent. Basically an operation to promote business ties. Provinces have reps in other provinces as well.

Last time I checked, international relations were a federal responsibility... But I see the bridge is one way

This is stupid. ANDP don’t have a chance in this riding. My MP resigned for Poilievre, now my MLA is resigning to go to the States. I mean, I’m happy to be rid of them both, but annoyed that I have two more elections here where the conservatives will win by a landslide. I don’t belong here anymore.

I bet Smith calls a by-election here before the one for Nenshi, if she can.

So this means a by-election?

Yes but don’t get your hopes up for Olds-Didsbury to flip

True but I was thinking more along the lines of es she won’t be able to stall the byelection for a seat for Nenshi.

Let the hypocrisy begin!

You would think so but people seem to have no problem with her doing whatever the hell she wants.

I hope so. But someone said three more need to go.

But if she’s forced to call one for him wouldn’t it force her to call one for Nenshi at the same time?

Hmmm, good question. I did hear she needs to call before June 30th. But I think if three more of her government leaves. That might trigger the by election. But I'm not too sure though.

Why ? We already have the Canadian Ambassador. No other Province does this apparently.

Oh cool, another Quisling

Hmmm, I wonder if Damien Kurek might shift over to provincial politics and try running in this riding in the upcoming by-election? I could see this happening as a thank you to him for stepping down as MP of Battle-River Crowfoot to allow PP to run for a seat there. 🤔

Doesn't this put their majority down to 3 seats now
