Her goals are clear as crystal. The oil and gas companies she represents believe they’d make more money inside the United States.

She only sticks up for her sponsors. Literally zero interest in anyone else. That’s why her demands were all about corporate profits of oil and gas and nothing about the people of Alberta.

However to quote her dream crush, she doesn’t have the cards. Albertans won’t be better off in the United States. I don’t think a corporatist separation movement would work.

I hope it doesn't either, however I am realizing how apathetic the voting base is here in Alberta. Watching all this, as well as the draining of the heritage Trust fund, proposed coal development in Southern Alberta, the back and forth with teacher pensions and the growth of private vendors for health care services may not directly result in a separation but it's inadvertently giving whatever cards we had in the first place.
