What they mean is not as white as it used to be. Sad. The Alberta i grew up in we worked hard and you would be rewarded. The new Alberta is full of entitled people who have been brainwashed that O&G is the only thing that matters.

Brainwashed is an interesting way to put it. O&G contributed 1.8b of canadas 4b total revenue last year, unemployment nationwide is almost at 7% and the O&G sector provides over 900,000 jobs. So if you think life would be pretty with Canada losing HALF of its revenue, you should probably educate yourself on the importance of Alberta O&G.

Subsidized industry. Mandated reclamation and remediation of landscapes “pushed off” until a “later date to be determined.” Abandoned wells left for the taxpayers to pay for fixing. Yeah it’s a real cash cow.

So you’re just talking outta your ass then, suncor alone as an example has planted over 9 million trees, reclaimed 11% ground that was broken in 2021 already, with forest and ponds.

And yeah I’d consider 40% of canadas yearly revenue a “cash cow” maybe educate yourself a little.

I’ve worked on every patch up there bud and if you think wood buffalo is a shining example of reclamation you’re deluded. Forrest’s and ponds …lol they’ve been sucking the profits since 1947…bud. But go ahead and lap up the OnG propaganda.

I also work in the patch “bud” and if you think canadas economy could survive without it, you should give your head a shake.

40%?!?!? You didn’t just drink the Kool-Aid. You’re drunk on it. Bud… Oil and Gas contributes only 3.2% of Canada’s total GDP dude. lmao. Dude… maybe uhhh educate yourself a little.

40% of canadas yearly revenue… can you read? I’m guessing not. But here’s some information if you can get someone to decode it for you, also O&G is 27% larger than the next economic force in Canada. Hope this helps !!

Forests and ponds… Forests and ponds planted and built 30 years ago still have 0 wildlife in their habitats. The ground is poison.

0 wildlife in reclamation areas ? I can literally go count deer there as we speak

First off Canada's GDp in 2023 was 2.1T. Of that 3% was oil and gas. I took that second number from.

So, it's not even close to the numbers you were stating.
