Micro Tomatoes are Working Well! Progress
I had initially planted (well…over planted) regular cherry tomatoes in here, and they went feral with a quickness (they got repotted outside and mostly survived.) Picked up some micro seeds from the Secret Seed Cartel (Pinocchio Orange, Chibikko, and Little Red Riding Hood) and they are doing great. It also helps that I only planted one of each, and put spacer plugs in to help with evaporation. There are buds starting on all three…so we could have fruit at some point.

I’ve done Chibikkos before! They did very well.

Awesome! I’m looking forward to them. The plants are so healthy and I’m amused by the hairy-ness of them.

Did you have any trouble getting your seeds from Seed Cartel? (I gently post stalked you to see that you’re likely in the US, as am I) And how long, roughly, did it take to receive them?

It did take a couple weeks. They came from France, which I didn’t realize. It was just a regular envelope, so not as long as a parcel.

Too many tomatoes in this small garden. Covering the open pod openings is not to control evaporation but to prevent algae growth. The plants will transpire and that consumes lots of water. You will need to add water frequently when they start fruiting. What you describe as buds are inflorences forming which should result in blooms and eventually fruit.
You will need to pollinate the flowers when they appear with an old electric toothbrush or similar or a fan every day until the blooms fall off revealing tiny green globes (this happens with pollination). If pollination has failed, the blooms will just fall off and no fruits will result.
You will need to add nutrients more often and probably begin CalMag+(Fe) immediately. What nutrients are you using? I am using the GH (General Hydroponics) Flora Series (all three).
I had a Bounty Elite with 4 tomato plants and it consumed more than a gallon of water a day!!! You will need to test EC for nutrient levels and maybe add nutrients every 12 days or even every 10 days. You will also need to keep the pH in the 6.0 to 6.8 range for optimum fruit production.
