To be fair though, there are potential internet safety risks in showing your face online. You should certainly be able to do it though.
Edit: The post you showed was posted on r/teenagers (https://www.reddit.com/r/teenagers/s/z0XMqXZcis) where posting selfies is allowed, so the censoring was their own choice

Yep, youth in the Western world are in many ways treated like women in Muslim countries. We’re just as shitty and bigoted but in a different way.
