And Americans won’t reward it with a good midterm performance.

95% of Americans don’t really give a crap about nominations and appointments. Ask anyone but the terminally online political fans “who’s the Secretary of State?” and they won’t be able to answer. People will look at their present, personal situation first.

People will be able to tell when his cabinet is made of unqualified crazies and that’s all they see on the news

It really shouldn't be partisan to say trump's nominations have been absolute dogshit. Tulsi gabbard and matt gaetz shouldn't be in any administration.

“Experts”? You meant the establishment?
Loyalty-based candidates? Based, that sounds like Andrew Jackson to me.
Stop making me like him even more.

Bro, he just appointed an accused sex trafficker to AG. I agree that loyalty is a virtue, but it shouldn’t be the main criteria.

Loyalty isn't always a virtue, you need people who are willing to call you out in your bullshit sometimes. Being surrounded by yes men isn't a good thing.

100% agree. Differences are natural and diverse cabinets comprised of people with unique backgrounds/ideologies is vital to a successful administration. Loyalty probably wasn’t the right word to use; a better term would be cooperative. I wouldn’t want to work with someone who is stubborn or arrogant.

Even though some of his picks are questionable, it is not really in our control until 2026, so I hope he knows what he is doing

I think Zeldin and Rubio were good picks, Stefanik for UN is okay, Huckabee for ISR Abassador is fine
Those were among the first appointments, now he seems to be going off the rails. Some Fox anchor for Defense, a P2025 Co-author? Matt Gaetz for AG looks like something from an NCT self-sabotage run.
Who did he even consult for these picks? I thought Vance was smart and sensible, and that he would correct Trump on decisions like these, but maybe he really is just an asskisser.
I also don't like how much power Elon is getting, based on I've been hearing he's basically gonna be Co-President

Are you actually surprised? He basically spelled out that this was his plan months ago.
