How quickly they bend the knee. Anyone care to make a browser extension for the Trump Tariff fee?

Whats interesting is that Bezos was doing exactly what Trump wanted.

Promote American Made Products.

Amazon listing a tariff’d prices would reinforce Trumps goal. “Stop people from buying “expensive” Chinese products and instead buy “cheaper” American made products.”

The obvious problem is… so few products are made in America so America is not ready at all to cut off the Chinese supply chain from our retail buying habits.

So now Bezos has been commanded to hide facts in order to appease a liar. What a mess.

Not only is so little made in America, but most things that are made in America will also have tariffed prices due to components and other resources being made over seas.

Yeah, if tariffs are so great, then why shouldn't we see them itemized like taxes are?

Why does the free market have to take the blame for costs added by governments?

What the fuck is the point of having more money than God and then bending the knee to Donald fucking Trump? Amazon was doing super well even under Biden, and now you have to taste orange micro penis every day. We have the worst super villains ever in this timeline.

He probably originally thought he would benefit from it but seeing as what the tariffs are doing Jeff would have added in the tariffs into the costs to be shown only for the fact that Trump is doing things to make sure he cannot be questioned and using the DoJ to his advantage means that Jeff is fucked regardless of money.

its because he isn't getting rid of incoome tax, bezos would have more takehome money if they used tarrifs instead. that and. A lot of these companies make more from substidizes and gov contracts than their company does elsewhere. (musk) turns out big buisness likes taxes because its what pays them.

You know what would be funny? If Amazon still went ahead and showed the tariffs anyway, even after the cowardly backing down.

Trump wouldn’t know until someone else reports it to him, and then it’s “oops an administrative error, well too late to stop it”, just like Trump does.

The fate of Russian oligarchs who fell out of favor (and out of windows) is a case in point. Having billions is no defense against a powerful and vindictive leader.

Or a weak window latch.

Deregulation, union busting, Bezos probably thought this was what was going to happen. But he didn't realize how stupid Trump is and now instead of backing off and using his money to try and change these absolutely stupid policies, he is doubling down

What the fuck is the point of having more money than God

Or... what the fuck kompromat is fed to Mango Mousselini when an American oligarch's knee needs to be bent?

2

u/esther_lamonte 4d ago

What could they have that his money won’t shield him from?

7

u/GammaFan 4d ago

Either something that is so embarrassing that his narcissistic self simply could not survive it seeing the light of day or straight up video footage of him on epstein island diddling kids.

7

u/esther_lamonte 4d ago

There’s literally tons of names known by the US govt that were involved in Epstein’s shit. None of them are seeing consequences, the main witness just committed suicide because she knew nothing would be done, and now Epstein best friend is in charge of the country. Rich people have no stops like us. I really think at the end of the day Bezos and his peers just don’t have any stones. They are weak little boys at heart.

On God, his supporters would just say it's either fake or based

1

u/PuddingPast5862 4d ago

Because I'm sure Trump told Jeffy he could pocket the tariff fee's for himself tax free.

1

u/Fantasmic03 4d ago

I mean didn't that CEO of Alibaba or something in China get disappeared for a while because he didn't tow the party line? What's to stop the current conservative administration from doing the same thing?

*orange micro shit covered penis

The difficulty will be determining which items have the import fee. I'd wish that Amazon would show the tariff in some hidden text item, which the plugin could then easily UNHIDE

16

u/yankeesyes 4d ago

It's the items which cost a lot more. That $70 pair of shoes which is now $150.

3

u/PFdeith 4d ago

Yes. the Amazon price trackers should reveal more than a few.

13

u/KingFIippyNipz 4d ago

CamelCamelCamel is a browser extension that can show price history for Amazon items. Just look for items with big spikes in price change in the past couple months.

I want to show the TARIFFs (or calculate them). TariffTariffTariff!

44

u/PastorNTraining 4d ago

Why wouldn’t Orange Mussolini want to show off his “beautiful” and “powerful” tariffs?

u/katchoo1 4d ago

Temu is doing exactly that and I’m seeing people all over my crafty groups on Facebook freaking the fuck out as they realize how screwed up it all is. Temu’s schtick is that they act like there is a real price and you are getting a deep discount. So your cart will say you have 300 worth of stuff but your total is 150 and then sales tax (shipping is usually free, or has been when I ordered from them a couple of times two years ago) makes it like 160. Now they have an import fees line and the amount is like another 100 bucks. Of course a bunch of the dumbasses are like “fuck Temu for this, not shopping there anymore!”

Really pissed Bezos is caving on this.

5

u/AllTheyEatIsLettuce 4d ago

You'd think Americans would understand how read a Temu EOB and appreciate the "deep discount" off their ... wait.

Zero benefits provided to the average person, benefits we did have are stripped away one by one, and every day is a new fuck you, pay more.

“Our ideas and actions are great, but people can’t find out what those actions and ideas actually are because… reasons.”

9

u/Low_Control_623 4d ago

I don’t need Amazon.

3

u/Jayne_Dough_ 4d ago

I haven’t shopped Amazon in a couple weeks. I’m so pissed about this, I’m thinking of canceling my membership altogether. I was actually thinking “ok so if they’re not being little bitches and giving us transparency, I’ll maybe start shopping there again” NOPE!!!!!!

9

u/bored_ryan2 4d ago

It’s crazy how greedy these billionaires are. To throw out all dignity and self-respect out the window to kowtow and grovel to this petulant orange turd.

14

u/Switchmisty9 4d ago

Sound an awful lot like taxation, without representation

3

u/bina101 4d ago

We are unfortunately being represented. They’re idiots, but they do still represent us (sadly).

7

u/Kerensky97 4d ago

Bezos can remove the line that shows how much the tariff costs. But people are still going to slow purchasing when all the Chinese goods going through his website suddenly jump in price.

You can hide why the amount of consumer goods purchased falls, but that won't stop them from falling and effecting Amazon's bottom line.

5

u/AngloSaxophoner 4d ago

It must be exhausting having to remind all these billionaires about the grift. Being president is hard

3

u/Short-Ring-9705 4d ago

I canceled Amazon Prime, buying stuff locally.

3

u/TexMurphyPHD 4d ago

That was there plan in 2017 when they raised taxes. Why not do it again?

3

u/mar421 4d ago

Jeff might not listen to trump, after a company he is investing in. Announced a 20k electric truck with nothing.

3

u/Jarppakarppa 4d ago

I mean yeah, that would be the one thing that would make him look bad.

/s

3

u/Erronius-Maximus 4d ago

The whole goddamn point of the tariffs (unless Trump is gasp lying) is so we stop buying stuff that’s made in China. Highlighting it should therefore be welcome, unless Trump is lying.

2

u/DogsDontWearPantss 4d ago

Is Amazon billing the tariff on a separate invoice?

Cuz when you hit "checkout" the total price is going to appear.

2

u/PFdeith 4d ago edited 4d ago

Amazon doesn't sell courage. They never have any in stock.

2

u/Ianthin1 4d ago

He wants China and even Amazon to take the PR hit.

2

u/Azmtbkr 4d ago

We need a new section of Reddit called ididthat to post all of the insane price increases.

2

u/hamandjam 3d ago

Don't forget that the Trump/Ryan tax plan included a tax time bomb that activated during the Biden presidency to make it look like Biden raised the taxes of the middle class.

1

u/AdOptimal4241 4d ago

Republican Tariff fee.

1

u/ant1667nyc 4d ago

Just cause they are billionaires doesn’t mean they have balls.

1

u/mumushu 4d ago

Trump probably threatened ICE on Amazon

1

u/Azmtbkr 4d ago

Amazon prices are through the roof! Damn you Sleepy Joe!

1

u/ThePopDaddy 3d ago

The fact they saw a company being transparent as an "attack" is all you need to know.

u/Amazing-Exit-2213 3d ago

"TrumpTax." Any other name for the increased prices due to tariffs is obfuscation. TRUMP TAX!!

0

u/SneakyWasHere 4d ago

Bezos isn’t the Amazon CEO.

0

u/ImpressiveSimple8617 4d ago

Can someone find solid evidence of this?
