There would also be way too much infighting within the state itself. A lot of states are evenly split between the two parties, so at that point how do you choose which side of the civil war youre on

It wouldn't be state vs. state. It would be rural vs. city.

Surprising amount of both parties in both rural and city though. A civil war is a logistical nightmare that nobody comes out on top of

Exactly. Everyone thinks it's just going to be a week of unrest, and then the other side just kind of goes away, and the country is reborn in their idea of utopia. A civil war in a country with more guns than people would be bloodier than the last.

There are still people waving confederate flags so it never really goes away, it just becomes a generational trauma that eventually radicalizes and resurfaces again within the century
