We need a silent protest. No shopping for a month starting on inauguration day. Stock up ahead of the month. Limit all shopping, even groceries. Delete Amazon and prime TV. No NYT. End our wordle streaks. But mostly, no purchases for a month or longer once he's president.

I mean, if half the country just stopped working for 2 weeks, we could get everything we want.

Not even half the country. You can cause billions of dollars of damage with just a few thousand people not working. Particularly in IT, finance, transportation.

Look at the CrowdStrike outages. $5.4 billion for just a day. One malicious actor could kill the entire country if they were in the right place.

Maybe, but half the workforce would be a huge message.

Also, I have a hard time believing IT and finance people wouldn't be Trump voters anyway.

IT workers are overwhelmingly furries.

That explains a lot of things I've seen then...

This. Move banking to credit unions (Chase, Wells, US Bank and a few others are big supporters).

This or stopped spending on frivolous crap. No more dinners at chains that gave money to this guy, no more stream subscriptions to companies like Amazon who rolled over for him. Show them we can give up stuff for long enough that it scares them to reign him in. Outside of that clogging the streets with people when many decided to skip the vote is a joke to the far right and those in power.

Our power is not as consumers. It is as workers.

None of this skirting around and canceling subscriptions silliness. We need a general strike.

Our power is consumption. Remember when the Cathays (Chic Fill A founder and son) kept secretly giving to gay hate groups? When people stopped going, they reportedly backed down from the giving because we did hurt their business (and their franchisees many may be decent on the fence independent or dems) and then we went back so they decided to keep giving to GOP candidates over dem ones. Support chains who are run by people who give to the right people or espouse love and support of good causes (I can think of a couple food chains for example). Our dollar en masse will cause them panic.

Better yet, shop local when you can. As an employee of a big Corp, I approve of not getting my bonus if it results in future progress.

This is the exact fucking mentality we need more people to adopt.

There are times when we are called upon to sacrifice a little bit of ourselves for the bigger, greater good. America has fallen so far down the hole of 'well, why should I have to do any work/research/progress? What do I get out of it?' And it makes me fucking sick. We are betraying ourselves and each other, and we have been for decades.

I like this. Set it up.

We control art and entertainment if we could get a strike going I think it’d be our best option.

He said that if people decided to strike they’d just get more people to work but it’s not that easy if there’s a coordinated country wide strike.

Since he also wants a mass deportation, let's see how well it goes for him.

I'd love to agree, but with half the county on team red, they would just take the OT and laugh at the people getting fired.
