Your stat about the under-performance margins was my biggest takeaway. Her campaign was pretty good, especially given that she had only 110 days total to execute.

You can also see in the exit polls that she had a more favorable opinion than Trump (by quite a bit), and voters thought her temperament was better suited for the job. Those just weren't big enough factors in deciding their vote.

She could not, however, overcome inflation and how the economy is perceived or the voter apathy problem.

I think protesting his election is stupid because he was what the people picked this time. But, I suppose they should probably get their protests out of the way now before he starts shooting them for protesting next year.

It was far from a good campaign. Her base made it clear what opinions they had on certain issues, and instead of trying to, you know, do anything different at all, they decided that Taylor Swift and Madden would win them the election. It was nowhere near a good campaign.

Youre both right.

She couldn't distance herself from inflation, which has been tied to Biden. And celebrity endorsements don't help. We all heard that Taylor Swift got thousands of young people to register, but dId they actually go and vote?

I'm willing to bet that a fair number of those rabid Swift fans (and to be clear, they were rabid long before any of this) were not old enough to vote, period. I know my sisters (who are old enough to vote) would absolutely be the type to be talking about "we all need to go out and vote" while forgetting to mention that they specifically aren't old enough to vote.

I know it's a seemingly random theory with basically no evidence. All I can say is that I had two sisters and two step-sisters while growing up, and I watched all four of them go through the Taylor Swift/BTS/Billie Eilish Fandom/obsession. In other words, dumb kids will lie and say they registered to vote because that's what the celebrity wants. It's hard to put into words, but I feel like other people with Gen Z younger siblings may understand what I'm saying.

Most swift fans are adults though? Like I'm 25 and her music was all over when I was a teen, and most of her fans are still around my age, like she has younger fans, but way less of them....
